Bill taking the exact opposite strategy as Prime. It’ll be interesting to see if the “you’re not special” approach works at a high level in college. If you scroll you can hear a video of him talking about it

His NFL players mostly hated him, so he better find some really old school dedicated kids, or the Portal gonna go one way even if it is Billy B

I reject the notion that you have to be miserable to be successful. You can achieve your best while also having fun and finding joy.
Hockey players make significantly less than athletes in the other major team sports where we are seeing guaranteed $20 million per year plus contracts all over.

That said while the agent will lobby otherwise I think he may find himself after his career wishing he had taken your view.

On one side of things contract amounts are often equated to a players position in the game, a measure of respect. It turns out to be fleeting though because every year somebody else comes along getting paid and the recognition that goes with it.

Beyond that for somebody living a "normal" life making 10-20% more can make a real difference in quality of life. To the guy making $60,000 a year an extra $500 a month makes a real difference at the grocery store, buying clothes for the kid, or being able to have a better second car in the family.

For the guy making $6 million a year how much difference does another $600,000 make, He already has 4 cars, he has a home big enough to have rooms his family doesn't use and vacation home they get to occassionally. Even building an investment portfolio to live off the rest of his life retiring with $20 million instead of $16 million isn't different in a meaningful way.

At some point giving up substantial money is worth it to have another chance at the cup, to play on a team that wins often enough to make the grind of the season enjoyable.

It should be kept in mind that in order to reach the NHL much less be a star guys usually have a very high competitive drive Losing is not something they brush off easily no matter how much money they are making.

So an experience comparable to playing at a service academy?

I think service academy results, but having to play an ACC schedule could be the ceiling for the BB college experience.

Mike Elko told reporters today that Micah Hudson is no longer part of the Texas A&M program. The Class of 2024 five-star recruit had transferred to A&M from Texas Tech in December.

Georgia WR Nitro Tuggle arrested on charges of Reckless Driving and Speeding in Athens...

At this point, the Athens police have to just be covering up bigger crimes like DUIs or drug possession or something. No way can the entire football program just be constantly driving recklessly
That tracks.

"You play for the Dawgs, son? Ok. Here's what is going to happen. I'm going to ignore the booze, weed and the young lady who is passed out in the back seat. You're going to agree that you were going more than 20 mph over the speed limit and Kirby's going to hear about it. Now get your ass home and make sure you beat Bama this year."

Bart Bortles has passed. At a time when CU football was mostly Colorado kids, he and guys like Kirk Tracey did us proud. Quite a guy - I never knew he owned the Boulderado at one point. RIP.

interesting note that in 1986, Golden was an "economic blight zone"
Before Denver blew up and Golden became blocks of cookie cutter 3 story condominium buildings the town was pretty dead.

Much of the area was parking lots for people coming for tours at Coors. Downtown was full of empty storefronts and decaying buildings. The only real activity was people going to Foss Drug for souveniers or lunch at the soda fountain or those going to drink and listen to music at the Buffalo Rose.

Bortles era of CU football gets overlooked but those were some really good teams. At that time the old Big 8 was arguably the best conference in college football.

"I'm like a Jameis Winston type," said Castellanos. "I'm coming out there, I'm hype, I'm goofy. I'm playing with the guys, just trying to have that fun about it.“
Is he also a raper that steals crab legs?

Wth, they can't do this!!

Apparently they have used a bison mascot in the past but not a live one. It was inspired by the state seal.

Definitely going to have to look into who owns the trademarks and then some sort of payout. Michigan paid mines a decent sum of money to get mines to modify its use of M

I wouldn't think there's any trademark with just using a mascot but if it gets specific there can be issues like you said with Michigan for example. I recall a while back where there was a dispute over Pistol Pete between Wyoming and Oklahoma State

I don't have a problem with Indiana using the bison as a mascot given their state seal.

And now I think we all have a new favorite Big Ten team to take on the Huskers.
