2025 Spring Game Thread (2:30MT)

Yeah actually, he did.

9/12 passing. Would have broken off some huge runs if we were actually playing a real game.

Maybe you need to rewatch.

Pretty clear Salter is leagues ahead if Juju at the moment…and that’s with him not knowing the plays
“Allegedly” not knowing the plays. Lama seems a bit biased. Salter looked fine.

Edit: CP presser insinuating a problem with preparation by Salter. Surprisingly from a 5th year guy looking to prove himself. Maybe he’s just taking a check, hopefully will be focused.

I thought Salter looked really fast. His legs are going to be a real weapon.

D line is the largest we have had in a long time. Both lines look big.

It is unreal to see Warren Sapp on the CU sideline. I sat in the west stand and he is definitely the motivator of the defense.

Joseph Williams is really good. The overall talent at WR is amazing and might be the best top to bottom that I have ever seen here which is crazy considering we may have 3 WRs drafted next week.

Our LB play has substantially improved, great job covering the flat, some work needed in crossing routes and that TE seam.

Decent crowd today, lower bowl was reasonably full and lots of students showed up. I feel bad for the kids from 2005 to 2022

What a gorgeous Boulder day. Overheard the people in the row behind us say they decided to buy tickets in the morning when they saw the forecast was better than it looked all week and I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case for a number of people.

Hood, McNeill, Wade, Okunlola, and Hodge were all out but they were dancing around on the sideline so I doubt anything too serious for them. Did see a defender in street clothes and an arm sling but couldn’t tell who it was.

Saw someone on twitter say the team looked small on TV because of the guardian caps and man, I do not share that sentiment at least in person. I remember being at the Air Force game and thinking some of our starters matched up with them in the trenches. But the depth showed they had a bunch of 6’4”-6’5” dudes and we had a bunch of 6’2” guys. That is not the case this year. Every DL on the sideline looked 6’4” 300lbs.

Arden Walker looked like he was taking a bit of a leadership role. Gonna need some fire to replace CSC. Byard looked like the real deal. Was awesome seeing Merritt and McPherson come into the game. They don’t look like freshmen.

The IMG pipeline is huge for the sell that if Prime recruits you as a high school kid, he wants you to contribute early. Most of those guys are truly ready to go and that makes our edge room stacked

Sitting 6 rows back from the sidelines it was very apparent. But thanks for the input. Salter was a C+. Juju was a C-. Salter had similar "preparation" issues at Liberty. I alluded to it yesterday and I posted about some things when he signed. Yes, I'm Team Juju, but for us to be successful next season Salter HAS TO BE QB1 and he has to play at high level in the scheme that Shurmer is putting in front of him.

McPherson is the real deal. McCoy leaving won't hurt us in the end.

Not sure, but Harden was on one of those wheeled knee scooters and Flapjack was playing with the 1s.
Zach Owens has major potential

Atkins is something we needed 2 years ago

I am Team Juju and almost wish he would just kick ass and take the job for the next 3-4 years and be the best ever

It would be nice to have one kicker who was just good at everything.
I guess but it’s not like we’re missing out on important players because we’re using a few extra spots for kickers. If we had to pass on a skill position of need or a lineman because of it then it would be an issue. Until then, I’d almost prefer to have a guy who is really good at his responsibility than someone who is average at everything. Pretty rare in college to find a kicker great at everything.

2010-2014 were some glorious years as a student - at least I got to watch CU get ass blasted from the sideline?
