I am first and foremost a fan of the University of Colorado. The Sanders family took our program off the scrap heap and resurrected it. Much of the national media attention surrounding CU has been wrong. Sometimes I think about and compare Coach Sanders and Coach Dorrell. The national media slathered all sorts of “great guy” praise on Dorrell and spits vinegar at Prime. We all know that Dorrell was a massive dickhead. Won’t read that in the papers, though.
Ultimately, the national press and the media swarm cost Shedeur, but I hope he does channel it as “fuel for the fire”.

Would it be possible for me to root for Shedeurs personal success while hoping the Raiders lose every game? Say he throws for 450 yards per game but the defense allows 40+ points a game?
I read Sheduer is the first player to have a number retired and not be drafted in the first round

I think this is the crux of the race issue.
It's not 100% race, but being brash and white would not be punished as harshly.
A black QB that is quiet and doesn't make waves, no problem in today's NFL. A black QB with strong opinions and an unwillingness to toe the line? Oh yea that's gonna be a problem. Kaepernick wasn't that long ago.
Whatever concerns there are with Shedeur, they are being magnified, either subconciously or otherwise. Baker Mayfield was celebrated for planting a flag. Shedeur is hated for waving a watch around. I doubt a single person decided he wasn't a take because of his race. But many have responded negatively to things they otherwise wouldn't have.
Bruv, I'd say 75% of the owners in the NFL are racist as hell. To them, players are the fodder that feeds the machine that drives their wealth. Over time, it's been widely exposed by both the media and former players that these organizations don't give two sh!ts about them. And if you don't think the Maras made their preference known last night, well, I can't help you.

Go back and read all the things said about Caleb Williams before the draft, after and during the season. Sure, he was an AA that was the #1 pick, but the sh!it he took for it and during the season had A LOT of undertones.
"Draft guy". Thousands of these "fvcks" out there these days. Most have no more insider information than you or I and couldn't put shoulder pads on the right way if you gave them a manual and a Youtube video.
I'm an old guy and watched Mel Kiper's picks over the years. He had SS is the best QB in the draft.

Imo, there is something more than his value as a player at work.

This plus the idea (true or not) that Prime would potentially be mettling and/or critical of the team if things aren't going well. And there's enough questions about his game that teams weren't willing to spend a 1st round pick on him.
Dolphins radio guy in Miami made the point this morning that Deion casts a very long shadow and the idea that he could or would be coaching advising talking to SS on the side or outside of practices was probably a reason enough to not spend the orgs money in the first round.

Dolphins would do well to draft a QB now
If his last name wasnt Sanders I believe he would have been drafted in the 1st round.
His attitude and bravado ( I have zero problems with) obviously turned people off.
I believe the owners weigh out the risk and reward.
If they dont feel he is head and shoulders above the other QBs, who would want to put up with the extra BS he brings with him.
Personally, SS does not bother me in the least, but Im not the one paying him $$ to be the face of my organization.

First of all, @Buffnik - what’s wrong with you? We never want to see a Buff go to the Raiders. No matter what. Full stop.
Secondly, this thread is kinda full of dumb. So many posts saying, people don’t like his attitude, his dad, his race, whatever. And a whole bunch of posts saying that the NFL ignores stuff as long as they like his game. Put two and two together, people.
There are a ton of brash athletes in the NFL, of all races. There are a ton who came out of college brash. The only thing that Shedeur has that other guys don’t is Prime as his dad, and I honesty don’t think Prime is that much of a deterrent. Which means only one thing - they don’t believe in his game.
We don’t have to agree with it. I personally think, as a dude who watched him in person for 10 games, that he has the most pro-ready game I’ve ever personally seen in a college QB. But I’m not an NFL scout or GM.
I hope he goes tonight (not to the Raiders, Nik). I actually think this can be ideal for him. He’s going to have a lot less pressure from the start. Maybe he doesn’t even start next year. That’s not a bad thing for a rookie QB. Even if he’s got a pro ready mind, maybe he can work on himself physically, and work to be a better QB all around.

I am feeling pretty good about this analysis.
My bet is the Browns pick him up with one of their next early 2nd round picks. If they don't I suppose its NOLA or Rams, but not sure I can see SS being okay with a developmental path like the Rams would be presenting. If none of those options, he goes to anyones guess in the 3rd.

Didn’t Prime say there were teams he didn’t want drafting his son? If that’s the case and there’s only a handful of teams needing a QB, maybe they were scared in using a First for him in the possibility they were one of the teams on Primes “no list.” This will all be fascinating to learn in a few years, especially if SS turns out to be pretty good.
