Just curious to get the opinion of you guys on the following while you were playing ball in Boulder.

I'll take a crack as a non-player:
Strongest Player: Cullen Bryant

Fastest Player: Cliff Branch

Best Athlete: Kordell

Toughest: Bad Dude

Meanest: see above

Funniest: no idea - the Cone Brothers?

Fastest: Rae Caruth
Best Athlete: Michael Westbrook
Tougest: Greg Biekert
Meanest: Chris Naole
Funniest: Matt Russell
 
Just my take from being an avid follower for 25 years:


Strongest Player: Joe Garten

Fastest Player: Ben Kelly

Best Athlete: Mike Pritchard

Toughest: Ryan Walters

Meanest: Thaddeus Washington (perhaps also "Craziest" as well)

Funniest: George Hypolite
 
I wonder if Jeremy Bloom could have kept up with Branch and Carruth. James Kidd had great wheels to as did Ced Cormier before his injury.

I used to see Westbrook play BB at the student center. Dude was a freak!
 
Hard to argue against Rae Carruth for being the fastest...

Tim Rosga was a badass. I remember him body slamming a teammate for stealing his helmet before practice. It was pretty funny. Rosga was from Minnesota i think. His whole family were wrestlers. I doubt the dude that ****ed with him ever forgot that little tidbit.

It was Steve, Tim was his younger brother. Played at Wisconsin. Steve was my roomy as a Freshman.

And think about tight ends at that speed also! Damn, and Lepsis ended up being an offensive linemen in NFL...probably couldn't still run a 4.6 then, but that is great speed.

And we are on our way there, we just need guys with that type of speed and then everyone else with almost that type of speed. :smile2: Asking a little much?
 
Meanist: Andre Gurode, I remember him knocking a Nebraska player from the goal line to the back of the end zone on one of CU's touchdowns when Brown ran wild.

I wasnt on the field but a good friend of mine told me how fast Ben Kelly was. Shaud Williams played at Tech then Alabama. He told me he never played against a faster player and he played in the nfl for a few years. Reason I say this is, he tore our ass up as a true frosh, 232 i think. Shaud said he was 10 yards in front of him and, before he made the next 10, Kelly was there. He played in the SEC for 2 years and said he never saw no one that could run like that. fwiw.

I knew A.G. and Big Vic when I was in college off the field they were two real nice guys, bailed me out of a fight once too.

Meanist: Andre Gurode < Chris Naole....and it isn't even close.

Andre is a very nic guy....strong as an Ox, but very nice. You try to avoid Naole when you see him in a hallway.

Best Athlete: Big, Hannibal Navies; Small, Ben Kelly

Toughest: Justin Bannan

Since I never played at cu, I cant be perfect. Wish I did all I got was letters.
