Like I said yesterday, I don't agree with the decision, but now that it has been made I will support it. I will continue to support this team. I had confidence in this team but now I only have hope. As a former Commanding Officer once told me... Hope is not an approved course of action. I regret that is the only course of action we have left.:huh:
Here is to hoping that Bohn made the right decision and Hawkins proves us all wrong next year.

Exactly. The Best NU CU games are when both teams have a lot on the line. During Mac's time and during Neu's and couple with Barnett they were a blast to watch. Now....
The conference needs to do something to help make the North more relevant again.
I just can't answer this poll "yes" or "no." I have no idea what went into the decision. I have no idea what the facts are. I, for one, don't think they would have made the decision they did without a lot of analysis. If all were perfect, based on his record, I'd have preferred to see him fired. I can't believe anyone can think that there is an absolute right or wrong to this whole thing.

Believe it buddy, this is the wrong decision. Short of inability to come up with the money to fire him and pay a new guy, which apparently wasn't the entire issue, he needed to go.

Should have gotten rid of Hawk. Four years and really no improvement in the program... some can argue the team is young but he has had four years to get his guy in here and build the program and he still has losing seasons. Hawkins is not the guy for CU... as I said in another thread, I wonder if there wasn't enough money to pay his buyout and get a new top notch coach.
There is absolutely nothing you can point to on the field this year that even remotely justified retaining him. In his fourth year, with three recruiting classes under his belt, they actually look worse then when he took over.
I have to think this decision came down to the off the field check boxes;
- Good Grades
- A clean program
- High graduation rate

Don't agree. Considering that pathetic press release (3 wins an endless array of excuses) it's clear this administration has a lack of interest in winning, and no real desire to put forth a winning program. So now when my Texas friends chirp about Colorado not being worthy of being in the Big 12, I don't even know how I can defend if with a straight face. Bohn and DiStefano don't care about winning, so why should a team that doesn't care about winning be in the Big 12 (other than to provide an easy win for the real football teams in the conference)? I don't even know anymore man.

6-6 = bowl game most likely. In the current CU climate, that will be spun as "success" and he will be here for 2011.
Sad, but true.
The thing that truly bothers me here is that now 2 of the 3 sports teams I follow have people in charge who are quite obviously incapable of understanding the standings and who live in a parallel world.
6-6 would be a victory. He would be retained on the point that he was now improving and he'd sell us on up, up, and away.
That said there is a helluva a lot of time between now and that moment. How he wins. How he loses. And how good the team looks in those contests. Which coaches stay and go and the quality of the current class will all play into that.

Hey man, take it easy... we all know how hard it is to get a 2.6 at CU :lol:
My GPA was substantially higher than that and I slacked off hard in college in a more difficult major than a majority of our players. To be fair, these guys are really busy with football as a nearly full-time commitment, but 2.6 really isn't that good.
Unless you are in one of a select handful of programs at CU, anything less than a B average means you really aren't putting in much time at all.
