1-0... that's huge for how this season lays out

Last year, we had a 2-1 non-conference season because of that game at Michigan.

This year is on track for 3-0 now, with Texas State and Northern Colorado coming up.

No way of knowing how Pac-12 play will go, but a bowl game seems to be about a lock and a lot more than that very much possible.

Got the win. March on. Improve these next two weeks.

There seems to be a lot of speed and potential.

Defense gets a lot better with Fisher at SS.

Offense gets a lot better with Irwin at LT.

Udoffia will only get better and looked pretty good. Lewis looks like the truth at ILB. Leo was impressive. Montez can be special. Some of the freshmen, particularly Callier, looked like they can make a difference.

I like this team's potential. A lot.

Offense showed flashes but needs work. LOVE Montez's arm and athleticism, but yay for our schedule for once.

Defense looked better than expected, but CSU let them off the hook as they felt like shooting themselves in the own foot more than once in the 2nd half.

Getting out of this with the win is the main thing. We all know this is a game where getting the win on the field is the only thing we can conceivably do.

Offense was a big disappointment, OL and play calling need to improve asap.

Defense was a suprise, got some young potential out there.

Refs were bad, a win is a win for this week.

Painful game to watch. Happy with defense, not thrilled with play-calling and OL play. But at least we are left with this reaction to our friends from the north......suck it bitches.

Thrilled with the win, but there is a lot of work to be done.

I think it will be done and we will be ready for the Pac this year.

One note on the play calling. Defense gave up 3 points. Got to keep in mind that HCMM is very much a game manager and that the game called for shortening the clock, resting the D and securing the win. I'm not sure that the conservatism was a Lindgren/Chev decision so much as a MacIntyre mandate. Played to win within the rhythm of this game. Frustrating as hell for fans (horrible game to watch), but it was winning football.

Mac-ball?

Only thing that slightly worried me: D was better in the first half and CSU seemed to adjust better in the 2nd. Refs let us off the hook + CSU shot themselves in the foot a bit also.

They weren't very conservative though. They very clearly were attempting to throw the ball to score and just simply couldn't do it. Lindgren/Chev need to be better.

Pretty much. Bill Parcells school of coaching. Growing up in NJ, I don't know how many times I watched a 1 or 2 score Giants win when they did what it took to get the W instead of trying to bury the opponent by scoring more points.

As a Giants fan, this game also reminded me of many Parcells era games screaming "PUT THEM AWAY!" I hear ya on this one.

I disagree with pretty much all of what @Buffnik posted. Sure I need to make it home and watch the replay but here are my impressions.

1. Suddenly the guy who used to run into contact even when he had a free run to the end zone now runs out of bounds anytime he is close. Lindsay clearly has a different attitude and it isn't good for his hopes this year or the teams. Plus I saw him completely make no effort on two blitz pickups. No bueno.

2. Our WR group is vastly over rated. A very bad csu secondary was covering them very well all game long. Except for short throws they couldn't get open. Oh and talk about a group that couldn't break a tackle in one on one situations.

3. Montez has all the physical talent in the world but his feet are not good in the pocket right now and it's causing him to miss easy throws. Also he can't lead a slant route.

4. Uddofia is in serious trouble this year. Guy was beat consistently tonight and if CSU had focused on him sooner it would have been worse. Worthington looked better but wasn't out on the island as much.

5. Safety play wasn't as good as last year. Not due to lack of talent but instead due to lack of play recognition.

6. Offensive line would look ok one play and horrible the next. Definitely not as strong as people had implied. Still ok but nothing special.

7. Special teams is still going to be one of the worst in the PAC.

The next two games are going to be big wins and people will be feeling good, but man does CU ever have a LOT to work on before Washington.

Oh but Lewis does look legit.

I think you expected too much. Played a team with a game under its belt that had beaten a Pac-12 team 58-27. Won in a way we didn't think we could win this year. And I think you're discounting the fact that we didn't have Irwin tonight (our best offensive player) or Fisher to shore up a lot of those safety issues tonight with a complete lack of help over the top.

Look, for all the doom and gloom..........here's how I broke this out of conference schedule down-

1. Just beat little brother
2. Use the following two games to fix whatever issues arose from game against little brother before conference play.
Great summation of the bottom line here. It was always about being 3-0 as we got ready for UW.
