1-0... that's huge for how this season lays out

Offense will be just fine as time goes on. They have two more home games to practice before Washington comes to town. The great takeaway from this game is that the Buffs' many new defensive coaches and starters held the Lambs to 3 points after those guys were feeling frisky by dropping 58 on OSU.

I was actually okay with Lindsay avoiding some contact at times. That has never been his MO, so I'm not going to doubt his decisions in this game, especially when they came with a 14 point lead with a vanilla offense in place.

I don't think Udoffia is "in serious trouble this year" at all. It was his first game, and it was a start as a redshirt freshman. Yes, he got beat a couple of times, but he had some breakups and had a half a dozen tackles or so as well. I see a lot of potential there, and think/hope he can continue to improve. I was actually impressed by his play, knowing that they were picking on him to avoid Oliver, and especially after seeing what the CSU receivers did to last week to Oregon State.

I love it that the Defense showed it has special talent. The Offense will get fixed, but if Lindgrens boring ass play calling does not improve, then we have to let Chiv start making the calls. Montez is showing his youthfulness, and this is where Lindgren does have a chance to be influential.
Absolutely no creativity in play calling. No motion, no pick them apart mentality, and what seems like an obsession with stupid QB runs.

On a closing note, Mike B-O-B-O is an A-H-O-L-E

However "meh" I feel about this result, it sure feels a lot better than the last time we lost.
It's also a huge relief because it means that, in all likelihood, the Washington game will be a Top-25 matchup with all that entails (GameDay?)

Udoffia made some really good plays. They caught a lot of balls on him, but because coaches had him playing way off the receivers (mostly that Johnson kid who looked really good). And Stevens was pretty accurate (esp on 3rd down, dammit).

Got to mention Tony Brown.

Mystery brewing that needs answers.
Ento did not play and I heard that the Red Shirt Idea is likely so he can start and star next year.
Did everyone notice that Frazier did not play and nobody has exact details on Irwin?
Is there academic or secret suspensions happening?

There are a few things that need to be pointed out again after getting all the facts from this game:

1. For a defense with eight new starters & three new defensive coaches and facing a team that scored 51 points on a Pac-12 defense, the new defense did very well by only giving up a FG in this case. The defense tackled very well in this game and put pressure on the QB against an OL that returned four starters. The haters are going to keep pointing to those OPIs but they should be asking themselves how many times the CSU QB was hit in this game.

2. I have read that CU's players killed it in conditioning this year and it was very noticeable. CU is clearly the superior team and that is why this series end can't come soon enough but it's nice to have warm up games.

3. I know Lindsay ran out of bounds a little too often but he still ran for 140 yards on 19 carries for one TD. Not bad. And Gallup only had like 5 catches for 67 yards against Isaiah Oliver. That might be noteworthy to NFL scouts and he's one player I'm concerned about leaving a year early for the NFL.

Let that crying over the refs die out and let the facts present itself.

The last two series he caused a fumble and had an interception. He definitely struggled and did not deliver big hits, and yes, avoided contact to a point, but played better as the day went on. I expect huge steps the next two weeks and for him to be ready to go by the time we get to conference play. Great learning experience and a great job versus a team that put up 58 their first game.

btw, loving seeing Taz with his mom in the post-game. We all know how much that means to him for her to be there and to be on tv with her. (y)
He thanked Yogi and Ashley for having his parents on the show :)

Udoffia got beat pretty much how I expected him to get beat - with great timing and great throws. He didn't get burned like the bad CBs from Arizona, ASU, Cal, etc where he was just bumbling around lost and allowing completions on footballs that hang in the air forever. He got better as the game went on and made play after play on the ball with tight coverage. I came away impressed.

It's been mentioned (by myself and others) but I'll say it again:

- For what we expected out of the D - I couldn't be more pleased
- For what we expected out of the O - I couldn't be more disappointed
- I personally HATE how many times Lindsay ran out of bounds. This is your rival. You should put as much smack on everyone as you can. You've got 2 weeks to rest/lighten up. Damn it man! Hit somebody. Gain those extra 2 yards.
