i was able to get my friends boyfriend (and nebraska fan) to wear an i love cu sticker. oh, and for those of you at the alumni event before the game, he won the cu flag and wore it proudly. he gave it to me later, which will be flown this weekend.
 
Does anyone know how you get the CU flag thats just like the american flag? Black and gold stripes with the logo where the stars normally are? I've looked frickin everywhere and I can't find it. I've seen other teams fans have them.
 
I ****in hate when organizations or companies or teams make a team flag to replicate teh american flag...to me its ****ing disprespectful. No bad on the buffs though...Nebraska has a couple too and I ****in hate them.

It's like...you don't have an original enough idea for a flag you have to make a mockery of the stars and stripes? I dunno...just sensitive about it.

did you know the proper way to dispose of an old american flag is to burn it....well burn the stripes and bury the stars? i JUST learned that this year over a memorial day camping trip.

Sort of, The U.S. Flag Code states, "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning". This is the only rule, some organizations like the boy and girl scouts and even the U.S. Army have detailed ceremonies and formal procedures of their own which are perfectly acceptable.

the two friends i went camping with are both ex military....they conducted a mini ceremony....said some words, burned the stripes, properly folded and buried the stars. it was corny but very neat as well.

Im Honor Guard in the Air Force. Although under United States Code it is preferred by burning, any matter of disposal is acceptable as long as it is dignified. Also, just because a flag touches the ground does not mean it isn't serviceable anymore.

In most civilian flag disposal cases it is usually frowned upon to do it 'at home' or by yourself. Any local VFW post or Vets establishment has flag disposal services you can just drop the flag off and usually they will let you watch the ceremony.
