beware the habu
holy cow, that's a basketball game score!
5 catches for 87 yards and 2 TDs in a wild 56-55 shootout.
Who whon?
I am already in can't wait mode to see Jeffrey playing in Boulder along with Gerald and Payton. Having talent, depth and the attitude that all three are bringing is going to be a significant part of our change for the future.
Next season can't get here fast enough!
Agreed. It's going to be nice to have a big target to throw to to compliment PRich for a year or two. I'm really excited about this WR bunch we have. Look to have swagger and play Buff football which is always a plus.
I'm rich bitch!
Has it sunk in yet his next game will be in front of 50k at the college level, moett?
Congrats on a fine HS career, Jeff, and we´re very much looking forward to you having an even finer College career in Boulder.
Thanks everybody for your support! He did actually say that in the car on the way home. Kinda hit us both that the next time he's in pads it will be in college.
Are there any sort of all-star games that he might play in?
We are still hoping. He was chosen for NUC's All World Gridiron game and nominated for the Sempre Fi Bowl. The NUC didn't get enough funding so they are trying to get him into another bowl. I will keep you posted on that one. That has probably been the most disappointing about the season. He's stretched his body for catches, jumped in the air, and everything possible but because of our "situation" not sure if his numbers will be enough to pull a game or not. I know he's in the top 10 in the area for receivers and I think 2nd in district. Just think that extra 101 yards that would've put him over 1k might've done the trick. Well extremely proud for all he has learned and worked for........and he's ready to hit CU running!
I didn't realize the Corps was sponsoring an all-star game this year. I found out it is the first year. I would highly recommend any bowl game associated with the Marine Corps, it will be done right. I know I have a prejudicehere. Semper Fidelis is the Marine Corps motto, it means Always Faithful... fits right in with the Buffs don't you think?
I'm still editing but here's Jeff's last high school hoorah!

Moett, just got done watching the clips. You have got one damn fine possession receiver on your hands. Some may consider the term "possession receiver" to be a negative, but I don't. They are dependable guys who run good routes, get open, and will battle for the tough catch. You need them to dig your offense out of a hole... And if your possession receiver can go deep, adjust to the ball, and make a one on one catch for a big TD... all the better!
Also loved the run blocking. EB is gonna love this kid.
Yup. I noticed almost all his catches were the "go up and get it" variety. Even the shorter stuff was on comebacks with a slowly arriving ball. He never got hit in stride on a crossing route or anything like that. Thanks much! I really see each of the WRs from this class having a specialty and will have a different job on team. We had something similar this year on our HS team and when we were really passing earlier in the year it was a GREAT thing to see. One had the flat out straight speed. Two were short pass specialists. And mine was the "go get it guy". One was a RB/WR hybrid with happy feet. As the season went on they adjusted to cover and rotate their talents and it was working great. Pretty much because it is alot harder to defend knowing that there are multiple weapons on the team. Shutting down one just opens up for the others and vice versa. Excited for what Jeff and the other boys can hopefully bring to the CU offense.
Towards the end of the season I really felt like Jeff and the others were then just used to dig things out (so you were right on time with your statement) only if the running game was in trouble or worn down. Don't get me wrong we have some GREAT RBs that are only juniors and they beasted it out for us. Things just shifted to running the QB more and pushed the WRs in the background until it was too late in the game to fix things. Left me a little bitter but I guess it is what it is.
