'13 CO TE Mitchell Parsons (Transfer to CSU from Vanderbilt)

That article pissed me off. If what he says is true, it sounds like Embree & Co are screwing around w/ a 4 * recruit pressuring him to commit than being so t'd off that he doesn't like the fact we suck dog **** right now that they just want to let him go.

For god sakes, he is a Colorado, 4* TE who want(ed) to play for us and be part of the rebuilding. If he is waffling because we suck but still is seriously considering us, WTF, why are we not regularly talking with him about how important he could be with our former TE HC's plan for revamping our offense, pairing him with Dillon, etc.?

LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should be noted that many other schools have a no visit policy if you want to keep your spot.

I don't think anyone has an issue with that policy. I think the issue many have is that it appears we have dropped him entirely and have no intention of trying to get him back in the fold on signing day.

In the end, if we have moved on, I just hope the TE we take in this class is a quality prospect. It would be nice to be able to build quality depth at some positions.

Yup unfortunately this class is much weaker at the position then last year.

One other thing: while we cannot afford to be taking on too many questionable prospects, an empty class at positions can be just as bad or worse. It is how a team is always young.

If we seriously are moving on from our best prospect than that is just another huge recruiting error by this staff. They have shown zero ability to develop players so you can't miss on one's who are already more athletically gifted. Mitchell would make a trifecta of stupid decisions on 4 star players. The others being Rippy from last class and letting Willingham go from the previous class. I would rather risk losing the spot then filling the class out with a reach on a 2 star Athlete.

Actually there reaches on 2 star guys have been terrible too.

I can't believe we'd cease recruiting an in state kid simply because he was having second thoughts and wanted to take visits. Simply consider him an uncommitted recruit that you actually have to fight for, a novel concept in this recruiting class.

It's one thing to expect kids to "preserve a spot" if you have talent or the ability to fill that spot with talent. We are not in that situation. The staff evidently thinks we're in a position of power, or at least principle, but that will only maintain the status quo.

Something in his personal life (been alluded to on pay sites without specifics) must be driving the decision. Sounds like he wants to take a sure scholarship offer.

Ya, there seems to have been a definite change in priorities sometime early in the school year or late in the summer.

Wait, in his 24/7 update, he said it was down to Vandy & Ole' Miss. Cal was still in the picture? This kid can't make up his mind. That pant leg keeps getting higher and higher for recruiting attention.

He has a visit scheduled for December 7th.

I'm pretty sure if we hired Tressel that Parsons would be a Buff. :wink2:

Do we have any shot left here?

Apparently, when Mitch said he'd like the experience of going on a couple recruiting visits that prompted a phone call telling him that if made that choice that CU would no longer be interested in him. He didn't drop CU, CU dropped him. This happened last year with a player, that player tried to come back to CU, and he was told "no". You have to assume this is over and wish Mitch the best.

LOL this coaching staff is a joke. Even top teams battle for their players until the bitter end sometimes and we don't have a TE on the roster worth a **** for next year. For being great recruiters they sure do think their **** (the 50 pt beatings) don't smell.
