so he is no longer a hidden gem?

ESPN has him as 4*, but he's unrated with the 2 major rating groups. Where will he land once he's rated?
Probably high 3 on the other 2. ESPN has weird numbers sometimes.
Size-Strength-Speed | Good blend of size, strength and speed at the position. Inside running strength and outside speed project well at the college level. Has potential load-back, every-down measurables and skill set. Possesses outstanding feet in the hole and downhill burst. Should continue to fill out and develop strength and power. |
Vision/Patience | Quick to see linebacker flow and the cutback crease. Flashes patience in heavy traffic and can sidestep defenders laterally, but is a decisive runner when he finds a seam and is quick to square up and get north. Would like to see a bit more patience when attacking the hole and allowing blocks to develop when necessary. |
Agility/Acceleration | Demonstrates excellent lateral quickness and change of direction movement. Can explode out of the pack with the burst and second gear that gets him to the end zone. Slashing, over-the-pads, inside running ability gets him through the hole with a burst to the second level. Shows outstanding cutback and bounce to the outside ability. Although running between the tackles is his forte, the playing speed we see serves him well when bouncing plays off the edge and to the outside. |
Power/Balance | Must improve forward lean and lower center of gravity as to not take on too many direct hits. Balance and power are both very good especially for a taller runner. Displays the power and balance needed to pull through low tackles while demonstrating the ability to lower his pads and run over defenders in space and along the sideline. Overall physical playing strength allows him to gain tough yardage with a dominant finishing effort. |
Bottom Line | This is a player that has flown under the radar for some reason and has a chance to develop into a fine college runner at the power 5 conference level. He is a sleek and speedy back that will continue to get bigger. Must be careful of pad level and be sure to develop in the passing game. Impressive skill-set. |
Would he be tempted by a UCLA offer? Or is this a pretty solid verbal?Talked to Donald last week, nice kid. Talked to his offensive coordinator last night, I'll get that typed up. They keep his touches to 20 or fewer, so there's not a lot of wear on the tires ... to use a terrible analogy. Sounds like UCLA has shown a lot of interest, but not sure they'll offer.

Have to figure any time a young man playing in Southern California has interest from UCLA, they'd possibly jump at an offer. The OC said he thinks Colorado is a good fit for Gordon and he believes the RB will be able to contribute early. There might be some holding on here until February.
Yeah. We really need a playmaker at RB.That is what scares me. Feb is a long time away.
