Bringing up facilities to justify WSU badly out-recruiting us is somewhat of a red herring, particularly when we have new facilities on the way ourselves. Even with their new facilities, WSU is still historically a doormat, is 12-25 under Leach, and has little going for it outside of football, unless you're into a college which is not exceptional in anyway or small-town living on the Idaho border. They're recruiting success compared to us simply boils down to coaching staffs. Their's has shown a willingness and ability to recruit with anyone, ours hasn't.
 
We're historically a doormat program as well. Nik pointed this out, but current recruits were 3 during 2001. Going to a bowl game helps a ton with recruiting, Wazzu was able to ride the momentum despite not getting to 6 wins this year.

Just have to laugh at some of the stuff posted these days. "Leach is recruiting better because he managed to coach his team to a bowl game in year 2. MM coached CU to 2-10 and winless in conference in year 2. What do you expect?"

Weird argument
 
I'm wondering if the 2 DL de-commits were the Mac's doing. Perhaps the philosophical difference between Mac and Baer had to do with the DL and with Baer gone, MM is free to fill those 2 schollies with his type of guys.
