This past Friday, Houston Baptist and Colorado coaching staff were on hand in Pearland, Texas for a football camp with hundreds on hand. One of those was Atascocita wide receiver Coye Fairman, a sleeper prospect who is poised for a big year after limited snaps as a junior. He showed what could be a breakout performance this upcoming fall.

When there are two top flight receivers on the roster with only one football to go around, there are times when really good players may not get many touches.
That seemed to be the case with Humble (Texas) Atascocita wide receiver Coye Fairman.
Working in the rotation behind guys headed to Texas Tech and Memphisrespectively, Fairman was looking for an opportunity. And it looks like that time is here.
“I feel like I should have gotten more passes. But this year, I should get the chance to make some plays,” Fairman, who had 158 yards receiving and two touchdowns last season said.[/FONT]

That's my thoughts. Assuming that the 40 time may not be quite what he reports on hudl but knowing that the 4.08 shuttle (and a 7.06 3-cone drill) was camp verified, I'm seeing a guy who is 6'4" or 6'5" with the frame to play at over 230 lbs and take on the big slot TE role in this offense. With that size and quickness, he'd be a tough cover there.
Right now, just a guy to watch. Mutual interest with him attending CU camp in Texas, coming out to the Rivals camp and then visiting for the team BBQ & facilities move-in UV recruiting weekend today (the last per Adam and why this is in Barzil for now).
Probably a case of seeing how he performs as a senior since his junior year didn't have much of anything to go on.

Looks like a 3 star from last year, Furquan Shorts(Texas Tech) and Treveon Hamilton(Memphis) were the ones getting targets over Fairman last year.

Last sentence of the second paragraph of the sixth post is where the reason is if others are wondering...
Not sure if he's gotten his academics in order to qualify, but Coye has had a great season for Atascocita. Through their first 11 games, MaxPreps has him with 58 catches for 1,010 yards (17.4 ypc) and 17 touchdowns. He's got the frame to be in that receiving TE spot and I believe that if the transcript is in place the Buffs are very interested.
May be that teams are waiting on his grades.

His first half of Senior year highlights wouldn't load for me, but his Junior year highlights look promising. I like that half his "highlights" were of him blocking down field... Not only blocking but absolutely pancaking the defensive back.
Obviously not the fastest guy on the field, but he seems to make up for it with his size for jump balls and breaking tackles. Unless he's able to put on 40-50 lbs in the next year or two, as well as gets coached up extremely well on the technique require, I'm not sure how well he projects as a true TE, but he's definitely an athlete that would give the offense flexibility.

I think he'd fit well in a Devin Funchess type role
Brian Howell, Boulder Daily Camera included him as a visitor this past weekend.
Sounds like (per Adam) CU is going to be in good position to sign Fairman after he bounces back from JUCO. He had a monster season as a senior. And he's going to be a big WR rather than a TE, it appears.
