I hope everyone clams up until he signs.Nice! Sometimes an oyster bears a pearl. With some dedication and time, he has loads of potential to be a great Buff. Welcome!
Edit: It may be years before some of these boneheads appreciate our cleverness, Spacie.
AV represent. Welcome young Buff. Believe me, Boilder is a slice of heaven coming from Lancaster
Size-Strength-Mobility
Tall and long. Looks terrific as an overall athlete. Long arms and levers and shows good body control despite not yet being bulked up or grown into his frame. Is graceful and elusive as a runner with competitive speed, not elite speed. Could easily transition to WR over time.
Mental-Makeup
Excellent designated runner out of his shotgun/spread option scheme. Can take over a game on the ground and is extremely difficult to tackle. This is the area of his game where he is most comfortable. Is still developing a knack for passing. Is a sandlot thrower for the most part unless the throws are short and underneath which require him to get the ball out. Not a progression reader in the five step game. One and run type guy who must develop patience and belief in where to go with ball and not just rely on his athleticism.
Accuracy
Very erratic. Sprays the ball around. Is inconsistent with his ball placement and can make it difficult for targets to easily transition after the catch. This is an area that must improve in order to be a consistent, productive passer.
Release/Arm Strength
You can tell this kid is really gifted and has arm talent. He must hone and polish his methods though. Has a bit of a long delivery, but also shows power to drive the ball when his feet are set and he transfers his weight. Technical work will help him become more accurate and consistent in his delivery methods. We like how he can change arm angles to beat the rush and he finds ways to keep plays alive.
Bottom Line
Osling is a developmental project to remain at QB, but he does have talent. Athletically he is a legitimate candidate to move positions, likely as a wide receiver or safety. Is only going to get bigger and stronger. Late bloomer who coaches will like to mold.
Rated a 3-star, 78 on ESPN. Would be the 25th DT QB in the nation.
Wow. Rivals never reacted to position changes etc.Got the bump to 3* on Scout courtesy of Greg Biggins liking him a lot as a CB (previously a 2* QB on there).
