'17 CO SG Justinian Jessup (Verbal to Boise State)

Just broke the MWC 3-pointer record.
Dude can shoot. Has had a great career at Boise State. He has also become a smart help defender, getting a good amount of steals and blocks for his position for a guy who isn't a lockdown man-to-man defender.

Could you imagine having that kind of shooter on this years Buff team? I can! 😉😉
It would be great to have a shooter like him but I really doubt he would fit in with what Tad wants to do on offense and especially on defense.

He was interested in CU but it looks like Boise was a perfect fit for him. Glad he found a place he could excel and have a great career. Not broken up that Tad didn't use a scholly on him for the Buffs.

I won’t disagree, but I dream of a day when CU has a lights out 3-point shooter with consistency... Jessup can shoot it!

I think this is one of those situations where it turned out for the best for everybody involved. He’s done very well at Boise, and would have probably been little more than a depth piece at CU, particularly this year.

I didn’t post about him breaking the MWC record to spark some kind of debate. Simply to point out an accomplishment by a local kid.

I stand both corrected and looking stupid. Some things never change. lol Why is it we’re always talking about a lack of consistent 3-point shooting? Hmmmmm.....

Because people seem to think the %'s that NBA teams shoot are realistic in college and they're not. And also because we aren't consistent.

When Walton completes his eligibility in 2030, we will be able to go back and judge (finally) if Jessup would have been a better take.
I kid.

It was a big concern heading into this year. We were really bad last year, particularly with the slump Lucas went into during conference play. It could be an issue again next year with Lucas and Shane graduating. Plus, I don't think anyone expected Bey to be a 40% guy from behind the arc.

He's a great shooter with good height for being able to get his shot off as a catch-and-shoot.

There is always a need for a specialist like that in the NBA.

I hope he makes it.
