Could be wrong on this but isn't part of it because he wanted a shot a qb somewhere?
Because of that and the academic side of things that is so valued by the family, I've long suspected that Nebraska's biggest threat of losing him would be if Georgia Tech offered him as a QB.Could be wrong on this but isn't part of it because he wanted a shot a qb somewhere?
This choice has everything to do with the chance to play at a major college and the chance to play early, no academic considerations what so ever. Picking Nebraska makes me want to line up the four brothers and play the old Sesame Street song, 'One of these things is not like the others.'Because of that and the academic side of things that is so valued by the family, I've long suspected that Nebraska's biggest threat of losing him would be if Georgia Tech offered him as a QB.

I actually see martinez going down either this sat. or against the meat chickens, he will then redshirt the rest of 18-19 seasonOne of his considerations for picking Nebraska is playing the QB position. Might be in his interest to look at that again.
Barring a career cut short by injury Nebraska seems to have their QB in Martinez, not much depth behind him but safe to say that if healthy the starting QB spot isn't going to be available for at least the next 3 years.
The NFL isn't going to be highly interested in Martinez so he is probably going to play four full years in Lincoln.
Saw his dad at the NU game. I assume he was there as well.
Not sure how many recruits NU brought in for the game, but I heard it was a decent amount from the locals.

You got all of that out of one game? You good.
Why thank you, I am!
kNU recruited Martinez to be a run first QB who can pass out of that offense. He isn't going to be developed or prepared to be an NFL QB. His passing didn't look great as it was but only one game. No he isn't likely to be an early entry to the NFL.
Healthy though he looks like he is going to be as advertised, very good in the system that Frost wants to run, don't see McCaffrey beating him out.
Does McCaffrey want to be the backup at kNU for that long.
@BuffUp could be right though. Martinez looks like he plays a style that will leave him open to getting hurt.
It might be okay to just see how it all turns out in this case. Hot takes like "he looks like a four year starter" and "the NFL will not be highly interested" after one game is pretty funny though.
Luke is definitely going to be a beast after going through that Husker S&C. He could be the starting QB for the Huskers when they visit Boulder in 2023...going to be nuts in the Folsom Field stands that game.
I wonder who the coach will be then for the Huskers?Luke is definitely going to be a beast after going through that Husker S&C. He could be the starting QB for the Huskers when they visit Boulder in 2023...going to be nuts in the Folsom Field stands that game.
Coach Adrian "IronAnkles" Martinez will take the helm as University of Nebraska Head Coach the week after he graduates. In spite of being on the bench in a full body cast and further stored in a glass case to protect him from air born particulate for his last 3.9 football seasons at Nebraska and having not won a game as their coach since his accession in the fall of 2021, in 2023 he is still seen as the next in a long line of saviors for this locally revered, never great, power-mouse of a program.I wonder who the coach will be then for the Huskers?
Looks to officially be a husker now.
Bummer that Eddie Mac was a great bronco, fan favorite for the state of Colorado and he guided all of his kids away from the state Universities. It feels like we never had a shot. I can't blame him as the coaching and program has been in disarray but was hoping our 2016 might have turned some heads. It never did.
Oh well but an opportunity that was wasted.
