I suppose you are going to want to nickname Ty, Colonel Chivington? Then after he leads us to the Natty, we can rename a dorm after him?Sand Creek Massacre?
Right after they rename Cheyenne-Arapahoe Hall something more topical like Nichols Hall.I suppose you are going to want to nickname Ty, Colonel Chivington? Then after he leads us to the Natty, we can rename a dorm after him?
hey keep quiet about that or he will get his 4th star and de-commitOnce-in-a-generation talent??? I like him as a prospect, but holy **** guys, let’s pump the brakes here.
I believe Ty is the one guy we need to find a way to hold on to. For that reason alone I´d be OK with keeping Roper. I recall reading that us hiring Roper was kind of the deal closer for Ty committing to CU. I think he COULD be a once in a generation QB talent for CU. I could be wrong of course but I felt this early on in his recruiting more than any of the other QBs we recruited and signed and that are on our roster. I hope we hire a HC that is badass ASAP and that he takes Ty as his #1 recruit as QBs are often what tie the class together.
Roper is a great QB coach. If they new guy doesn't have a comparable QB coach, we should keep him. Montez looked like he regressed and went back to some old footwork and vision bad habits but that should not negate the incredible difference in all but 2-3 games in Montez. This was Roper's doing all the way. I would be fine with keeping Roper, especially if it means keeping Ty Evans. I also have to say this in as little a snarky way as possible. Setting up a website and sitting in your basement watching tape of 16 year old football players does not automatically make you a great talent evaluator. Also, I highly doubt RG cares what the hell I or anyone else on this esteemed site thinks about what he is doing and that's rightfully so. It's his ass on the line if he screws this up.
This. There is no way a new coach makes a holdover his offensive coordinator, and the qb coach is almost always the oc.Hard to keep a QB-only coach on staff.
What if your new head coach is an OC / QB coach who will call the plays? This. There is no way a new coach makes a holdover his offensive coordinator, and the qb coach is almost always the oc.

That could work, but I think it’s unlikely that say, Jeff Tedford would want a holdover as a qb coach. What if your new head coach is an OC / QB coach who will call the plays?
Day would be the HC/QB/Playcaller in this scenario most likely. Roper probably wouldn't be retained, IMOi.e. Day as HC/OC and Roper as QB Coach? I would take that!
Congrats to Ty and his teammates!
But, damn. That injury means early enrollment is more for surgery and rehab than to compete for a job. ****
