'19 TNFR S Mikial Onu (Signed to COLORADO)

This is a nice quote from Mr. Onu about his first Boulder impression:

"Everything stood out. I had never been to Boulder before so seeing the city was amazing, the different views from all different places. It is just much more of a college campus than SMU is. SMU has the school but then outside of the school it is just Dallas. Everything in Boulder screams the University of Colorado. And I was making this point earlier to my brother, there aren't many chains in Boulder. Most of the food places and clothing places are unique. In Dallas, I knew what I was going to see every time I got in my car. In Boulder, I noticed so many different places I have never tried before so I think that is neat. I like the college town feel versus just a big city with a school in it."

Onu could have gone a lot of places, a proven player of his quality would be welcome almost anywhere.
I have to believe that a big part of why he decided to be a Buff was to be a part of what Mel Tucker is creating.

I really thought that Tucker would have to win six and get in a bowl to get traction with recruiting, being a (kind of) first time head coach.

I was way wrong. And I, dare I say, quiver with excitement at the thought of what his recruiting will be like with 7-8 wins this year, if they pull it off.

If he outperforms the coaching side this year like we’ve seen on the recruiting side, he can probably stay as long as he wants and be a legacy coach for CU. That’s my hope anyway. That’s a focused man making a team exactly how he wants it. I never knew what MM was trying to accomplish, Hawkins definitely less so (other than getting his son as many records as possible); but damn. Tucker is a man on a mission. And I love it.
