1992 wins pretty easily because of the front court. 2012 is much, much more athletic and versatile, but their best line up probably has LBJ playing the 4. Maybe 2012 could run 1992 out of the gym, but I think the inside advantage would just be too much to handle.

This is International B-Ball we're talking about. 92 wins because they can play a lot better team ball.

The all around game skills the 92 team had would outclass 12 despite their perceived athletic advantage.

I'm actually coming around to the 2012 team beating the 92 team. The 92 team didn't practice their flopping well enough.

The '92 isn't a dream team. It's the dream team. It's a wet dream team.

The '12 squad is just lucky to even be able to use the word "dream" in their description. That word was coined by Magic and Bird and Michael GOAT Jordan. Kobe and Labron and the "others" are pretenders. If the '12 team were to be a dream, they'd be one of those recurring dreams that come along every four years and you might or might not be able to remember it when you wake up. Something about wearing your pajamas to a college exam or being a passenger in an airplane while freaking out about your daughter visiting the Cordillera hotel above Edwards, CO.

I'm not enough of a basketball expert to have a dog in this fight, but I am surprised to not see a single vote for the 2012 team under the premise 20 years of better nutrition, weight training, etc.

^^This^^

No doubt that 12 has some great individual players, 92 also had some great individual players.

The biggest difference is that 92 had some of the greatest team players to ever play the game. They had a number of players who's greatest pride was in making others around them better. Who on the 92 team was a ball stopper? Who on the 92 team would you call a ballhog or a gunner. Even MJ who took the most shots of anyone on the team normally shot what would be considered a fairly high percentage against todays teams and his passing put some very offensively limited Bulls teammates high on the list for shooting percentage.

The logic behind this is bigger, faster, stronger but the 92 team in comparison is overall bigger, faster, stronger than the 12 team. It isn't like putting a 2012 NFL defensive line against a 1970's NFL offensive line with 250lb guards and 270lb tackles who were fat and slow.

What? You think the 92 team was bigger stronger and faster? Wow

Yes looking at the roster 92 was bigger. Robinson and Ewing gave quality height, Ewing and Malone were stronger inside than anyone on this years team. Though not pure power players Barkley, Bird, and Magic could push and shove with anyone. Durant from this years team is probaly faster for his position than anyone on the 92 team but overall MJ, Pippen, and Drexler were better finishers in transition than anyone on this years team and Magic and Stockton could run it better. Overall the origional team was faster, especially in style of play.

That is basically unreadable on my phone kinda but surprised by how skinny some of the bugs were on the 92 team.

Some of the weights listed were way below actual. Magic was listed his entire career at 220. By the time he retired he was at least 250. Ewing same thing. He was 240 at Georgetown, by the time he retired he was closer to 280. Same applied with a number of those guys. If you go back and look at the tapes they were some big guys.

Yeah that makes sense I don't remember being too skinny.

1992 wins pretty easily because of the front court. 2012 is much, much more athletic and versatile, but their best line up probably has LBJ playing the 4. Maybe 2012 could run 1992 out of the gym, but I think the inside advantage would just be too much to handle.

A team with Magic, Jordan, Pippen, Drexler, even Stockton, would never be run out of the gym. Wouldn't happen.

The physical talent of this team would just wear down on the 1992 team. I am not exactly sure who would win, but just based on physical skills I took the 2012 team in 7. They are younger and have the scoring to keep up. My concern, the only center on the 2012 team is Tyson Chandler. They have no inside presence.

You are correct, the 92 team are all over 40. There was never a collection of physical talent on the floor at one time like the 92 team, this team isn't close.

The 2012 team is just a roster at this point.

They have to play through to the gold medal round in order to have a fair comparison.

From Magic himself on his facebook.

"The 1992 Dream Team had 11 HOFs, 23 champ rings & the greatest player of all time in Jordan. No chance this years team would take us."
