'20 AZ WDE Jason Harris (SIGNED to COLORADO)

You have to do what is best for the program and for the player. He is not ready to play. Can't play a player because you don't want him to transfer.

Eh. Noyer entered the portal last year and ended up staying. I’d guess he had fewer options than Harris will have, but it does happen.

He has to put his name in the portal so other schools/coaches can talk to him. He could still end up here, but a reasonable assumption is that he wants to transfer to Arizona to play with his brother and be near family and is talking to the new staff.

Doesn’t Harris realize that Arizona sucks? lol

We knew when he was signed that he was going to need development. We also knew that multiple coaches from quality P5 programs believed that he could develop into an impact type player.

Anyone who thinks that this isn't a loss is thinking with their heart, not their head. We aren't a program with the depth of talent to lose probable future impact guys.

With that said it seemed from the start that the reason he signed here was the relationship he established with MT and his staff. This doesn't say that they didn't try but it would seem that he didn't establish that same kind of relationship with KD and his staff. Not surprising for there to be a few guys that fit this description when you have a new staff but this one does hurt us.

And no BB he wasn't going to put on 50 pounds and become a hand in the dirt 5 technique down defensive lineman. He was recruited by us and by other schools to be a stand up edge rusher. For a team that had serious issues getting pressure on the passer without bringing extra men that is a talent we need.

He had a good relationship with the position coach that recruited him, not MT. Players are too emotionally attached to coaches. There is a lot of coaching turnover every year.

I mean, he probably wants to help build something from scratch in Tucson.

You know, because their rivals just burned that program to the ground.
