2011 PAC 12 & Colorado Preps Recruiting Tracker

We've got new in-state commitments for some Colorado kids:

Hank Baker, K (JK Mullen) - Brown
J.D. Henry, TE (Chaparral) - Sioux Falls
Dominic Rufran, WR (Palmer) - Wyoming
Taylor Sheridan, DE (Highlands Ranch) - Montana State

USC got its 24th commitment: Greg Townsend Jr., DE, CA, (4*/ 5*/ 4*)

9 of the 24 are early enrollees, which means that the remaining 15 fills USC's allotment for this class due to the NCAA penalty. Looks like they're done.

Recent Utah commit Philander Moore, a juco WR from Texas, has proved unfaithful. He will enroll at Ole Miss.

Utah snagged the big in-state prize of this recruiting cycle for its 21st commit: Harvey Langi, RB, UT, (4*/ 4*/ 3*).

Oregon snags its 21st pledge from in-state: Colt Lyerla, ATH, OR, (4*/ 4*/ 4*).

Cal got its 16th commitment in what is shaping up as one of the top classes in the nation: Viliami Moala, DT, CA, (4*/ 5*/ 4*).

Washington landed #22 from Grant HS, and he's a really good one: James Sample, S, CA, (4*/ 4*/ 3*)

Stanford gets #23: Wayne Lyons, S, FL, (4*/ 4*/ 4*).

I wonder who he committed to.

I can't believe that Cal is pulling this kind of class after last year. Any insight to this Nik?

Cal stole a probable DB from Washington: Joel Willis, ATH, CA, (3*/ 3*/ 3*).

Cal's up to 17 commits and UDub's down to 21.

Cal strikes again with another blue chip DL commitment: Brennan Scarlett, DE, OR, (4*/ 4*/ 4*).

That's 18 total for the Berkeley Bears.

Colorado has secured its 6th commitment from Stevie Joe Dorman. Dorman is a pro style qb from Texas who is the nephew of former Buff great Koy Detmer and his heisman-winning older brother Ty.

This give the Buffs a JUCO transfer to compete in the spring as a junior as well as an incoming freshman.

TG had a good question here, Cal appears to be killing it. Have they been trending upward for the last couple of years, or has something changed this year? It's not like they are standing on a great season to drive it.

I've never really paid attention to teenage boys in the middle of winter before. For those of you that have focused on them for years, what gives?

Cal is the only Pac-10 team without a conference title in the past 30+ years. Since Tedford took over they've been a consistent middle of the Pac team, which traditionally for them is great. Tedford's teams always start the year well and then choke down the stretch.

Having said that, this is easily their best ever defensive class. What are they selling? Early playing time and a Cal education. This year's class could certainly be formidable in a few years, but until Tedford can win a big game...

Currently Cal does not have a QB or running back, so if you can score 20 you'll win next year.

Buffs secure commitment #7: Sherrard Harrington, CB, DC, (3*/ 2*/ 3*).

ASU has secured its 14th commitment: Quinton Pedroza, ATH, CA, (NR/ 2*/ NR).

Stanford has lost one of his top commits: Amir Carlisle, RB, CA, (4*/ 4*/ 4*).

USC, somehow, picked up Carlisle's verbal. I suppose they're going to bet on being successful with their NCAA appeal and go ahead with 25 signatures on National Signing Day. If the NCAA then tells them they have to cut 10 loose, they'll pick 10 and give them the shaft Trojan style.

Well, in that case, at least they won't have to worry about getting pregnant.

Kameron Jackson, DB, CA, (3*/ 3*/ 3*) is no longer a Washington commit. He visited CU this weekend and is undecided among Cal, Colorado and Washington.

Buffs have landed #8 by flipping him off of Boise State. Full credit to Coach Cabral on this one.

K.T. Tuumalo, OLB, HI, (3*/ 2*/ 2*)

Wazzou snared a pretty good DT out of California: Brandon Tuliaupupu, DT, CA, (3*/ 3*/ 3*).

Woodson Greer, a LB/FB prospect from Cali's vaunted Serra program, has committed to the Colorado.
