Hmmmm...I'm not a fan of rivalry games in week 1, either.
However, it IS fun to start the season with a bang.

I preferred the Nebraska games over Thanksgiving and CSU at the end of the season.
That way, it didn't matter what the record was at the end of the season. If either team
had a crappy season, they could salvage it a bit with a win over the rivals.

This way, it leads to a bit of a letdown at the beginning for one of the teams.

Due to the game and long weekend I cut out of work at 3pm to grab a pint and start the festivities. I live in New England. It was 3pm EST. Pace myself until 9pm? Yeah that's the ticket.

I actually really LOVE our black helmets.
Looks great with black pants and white tops.

My fave overall is the gold helmet with all black, or all white with black helmet.

Kind of would like to see an alternate logo on the black, or a chrome gold helmet as an alternate.

BUT BIG PROPS to sticking with tradition, as well.
