Finally completed the schedule this week by adding a game with Iona, a consistently good program that made the Dance last year.

It's crazy to think we could almost return the entire roster next year if Bey were to stay. I don't see that happening though.

Didn't see until just now that Mike Dunlap and Loyola will be here 12/4. Might try and make that one if I'm not officiating a high school game that night.

Who helps our schedule more to play-TCU or Clemson?
TCU is #44 on KenPom right now while Clemson is #72.

But TCU scares me. Jamie Dixon teams play great defense and the worst post-season performance I've ever seen from a Tad team was against Dixon's Pitt squad.

You'll know a lot more about TCU after their game tonight with UC Irvine. I don't think Irvine is as good as they were being portrayed before the CU game, but they are good enough to get a win here or there against some power conference teams.

Some early news for next season's schedule-

That's a nice tourney. USF is the weak link, but they'll bring a local crowd and be dangerous in that setting.

Wisconsin seems down this season, but they should be back to normal next year.

Butler is nails this season, but I'd expect that they come back down to earth next year.

We should be good, but not as good as we are this season.

Makes for a good, competitive tournament, I would think.

Weren't there some rumors a few years back that he was so good the staff was worried about him declaring early and never really playing at CU?

Not any credible rumors. Or perhaps Tad generated?

Anyone who saw him knew he was a few years away at best. Another major Euro Fail for Tad. We had the point guard from Belgium who couldn't shoot, The Serbian Juco from TX who liked to smoke, Strating from The Netherlands, who works his ass off, but is never going to be more than a bit-part role player, and this guy who ate up two years on the scholarship program for 6 memorable minutes.

Rick to Tad: "No, you can't recruit in Europe. I will not approve your travel."

Edit: No slight to Strating meant here. That kid brings it and I like him. Not sure Tad would use that scholarship that way again though in hindsight.

Not that he'd declare for the NBA, but that he'd play in one of the pro leagues in Europe. Those go from teams on the level of the G League all the way down to what would be equivalent to Single-A baseball in the US.

I probably just converted "turn pro" to "NBA" in my head. That makes sense and I assume that is the likely outcome here.

Can we end the experiment of recruiting Europe? Not that there isn't talent there. We just suck at it.
If we are gonna recruit overseas anywhere, Tad might want to talk to Mark Few. He seems to find guys from all over the damn place.

Dude. One of our assistant coaches is Bill Grier -- who was Few's assistant for 15 seasons starting in '92 when they built that thing.

We tried. We failed. Move on.

Didn't necessarily expect that one.

Still likely that Bey goes draft; possible, but I think unlikely that Kin does too.

Pure speculation that Strating could transfer based on where he wants to study for grad school.

Think Dombek can be a good player in a system where he's allowed to just run around and be athletic.

No ill will towards the kid at all. By all accounts he was a great teammate.
