There were multiple backups on defense that were out because of contract tracing so we were throwing 3rd and 4th stringers out there. 85-16 is a lot better than having under 50 scholarship players available. I don’t even get why this is an argument but I guess I never understand what you post so it makes sense.Texas was missing 18 players in their 2-deep including 6 captains and 3 starters on the Oline. Colorado was missing Lang, Miller, Landman, Sami, Brady Russell, Shenault and a couple other lesser contributors.
We got mudholed - who else were we missing that would have prevented that beat down? Both teams were missing players, but one team dominated. The excuses for these performances unrelated to talent is lame at this point. We got whipped because of talent, plain and simple, not injuries.
ok, this is more than a peeve. There were multiple backups on defense that were out because of contract tracing so we were throwing 3rd and 4th stringers out there. 85-16 is a lot better than having under 50 scholarship players available. But you have to admit, without the method of contact tracing - the thing that was used to determine the contact - they would not have been held out. So, because of contact tracing, they couldn't play.ok, this is more than a peeve.
those players were not out "because of contact tracing". those players were held out because they were exposed to someone known to be carrying the Coronavirus; contact tracing is the method by which that exposure was determined. this is not a nuanced distinction.
Okay maybe I don’t understand contact tracing them lol. I thought it was players that were exposed but hadn’t tested positive for the virus.ok, this is more than a peeve.

I imagine going out and getting Lamb and Barnes was a direct reaction to that. I know it's not popular to claim any semblance of depth on this roster, but ILB looks pretty solid to me with 3 talented and experienced veterans, another experienced vet in JVD, and young potential. I think a change of scheme will have an impact as well. The defense cratering after Landman went down was much more concerning than the bowl game performance IMO. Depth seems to be better, but this is all reliant on Landman staying healthy.

I absolutely don't have to admit that all. Contact tracing could've been replaced with supplementary testing and possibly lead to the same players being held out. I do think contact tracing is the most practical method, but absolutely not the only method. But you have to admit, without the method of contact tracing - the thing that was used to determine the contact - they would not have been held out. Because whining about injuries excuses away the real reason CU has struggled for more than a decade - talent. We didn’t get crushed because of injuries or COVID, that’s bulls**t, we got crushed because top to bottom we lack the talent to compete with teams like Texas. Talking about injuries is putting your head in the sand. There were multiple backups on defense that were out because of contract tracing so we were throwing 3rd and 4th stringers out there. 85-16 is a lot better than having under 50 scholarship players available. There had to have been a serious scheme issue if they defense fell apart that fast when he went out right? He is a stud but having the entire defense revolve around one player doesn’t seem like a good plan.I imagine going out and getting Lamb and Barnes was a direct reaction to that. no, identification of those players are the "product of contact tracing", not "contract tracing." maybe you're just being loose with your words, but this is a large difference.Okay maybe I don’t understand contact tracing them lol. I thought it was players that were exposed but hadn’t tested positive for the virus.

Don't fûcking tell me what I have to admit.

I think he's a major difference maker from a pure on-field, making plays standpoint, but I also think his leadership was sorely missed. I wouldn't be surprised if his injury took the wind out of the entire defense and the confidence immediately went down hill. There had to have been a serious scheme issue if they defense fell apart that fast when he went out right? no, you're either just fÐcking w/ me or you're being stupid. I think it's likely the former. But supplementary testing wasn't the method used. Contact tracing was. And because of contact tracing, they couldn't play. You have to admit that.
I am, but context is important. This is the the most physically imposing team that I have seen in at least 20 years at CU. I think we will be a pretty damn good team....with our starters. If we stay healthy, I see us covering 4.5 comfortably. But as is the case just about every year, depth is a big concern at a number of key position groups. We also have a pretty brutal schedule. If I am actually laying cold hard cash, I am paying attention to all of these factors....I have been kicked in the nuts too many times over the last 15 yearsI thought you were optimistic!
Think of contact tracing as the "because" behind the outcome. The outcome was that certain players couldn't participate. It was because contact tracing revealed they had proximity with an infected person or people.Okay maybe I don’t understand contact tracing them lol. I thought it was players that were exposed but hadn’t tested positive for the virus.
I don't think you fully understand what "or" means.no, you're either just fÐcking w/ me or you're being stupid. I think it's likely the former.
I’m not whining about anything, I’m explaining the facts about what happened that day. KD could have and probably should have cancelled that game because of covid, not injuries. Would we have beaten texas with those players? Hell no I’m not saying that at all. I am just saying that the result of that game isn’t a true reflection of the team we had last year. Do we need to recruit better? Of course. I have never been on the other side of that argumentBecause whining about injuries excuses away the real reason CU has struggled for more than a decade - talent. I understand what both the inclusive and exclusive versions of the word mean.I don't think you fully understand what "or" means.
What's the LB two deep look like today? If something were to happen to Landman, you don't think one of Lamb or Barnes would fill his spot? The distinction I would make is LB depth likely is better overall, but the MIKE spot is still thin. JVD playing a lot of snaps there is not a recipe for winning football.

Yes, he was below the threshold for cancelling the game. Good for him for still playing.
Cancelled the game????
Your use didn't feel exclusive. On or the other.I understand what both the inclusive and exclusive versions of the word mean.
That's fair. I'm probably foolish in this regard, but I never go into a season assuming injuries at critical positions. I think the odds are the vast majority of starters will stay relatively healthy and play most of the season. IMO, there are only a couple positions where an injury would completely derail a potential bowl season.I am, but context is important. Instead of interpreting my posts based on your feelings, I invite you to take them literally (when lacking obvious indications of sarcasm). I think communications will be far more clear if you make this change.Your use didn't feel exclusive. On or the other.
