That transition from Air Raid to triple option is brutal1) the player talent baseline at Stanford while Turley worked there was far superior to the current talent level at Colorado. He is a trainer with limited contact to talent deficient players. He is not a miracle worker.
2) the 2020 team got lucky for four games against opponents who weren’t as well disciplined. Once reality set in, Colorado got their brains bashed in by Utah and Texas. Last season was a back to reality moment.
3) This season’s schedule setup makes this year FAR more difficult than last year’s schedule. The “easiest” non conference foe is a USAFA team who will be at home after Colorado’s track meet game against TCU.
4) Right now, it seems like the number Vegas thinks Colorado will win is 3 games. Over 2.5 is minus money and under 3.5 is minus money. 3 wins will be a success. 4 is even better and not outside of possibility. 5-6 is incredibly unlikely and would represent a true miracle. 7+ and Karl Dorrell should be paid Nick Saban money.
The thing people forget about the 2020 season is we beat 3 teams from California that had to deal with much tougher covid restrictions, and an Arizona team that quit under Sumlin. They were also leading against Utah at half time in 2020. Landman got hurt and the defense fell apart. Discounting wins, but emphasizing losses “got their brains beat in” is an AllBuffs tradition.Meh. You are what your record says you are. There's little logic or point in discounting wins, but some of you spend a lot of time doing it.
That said, 4-8 is a bad record and it doesn't appear we improved much. KD is on record saying he expects 7 wins, so Manhattan better be ready to pay him those Saban bucks.
The Parcells record maxim is true in nearly all times, except for times of global pandemic and shattered season prep.Meh. You are what your record says you are. There's little logic or point in discounting wins, but some of you spend a lot of time doing it.

Jerdough is still talking about 7 wins being an amazing achievement on Twitter. They were also leading against Utah at half time in 2020. Landman got hurt and the defense fell apart. Discounting wins, but emphasizing losses “got their brains beat in” is an AllBuffs tradition.
At media days he said “I expect us to win more than we did last year”, hence my “5 wins no excuses” comment a few pages ago. But yeah, his video today said win more than they lose. He really should have stuck with the first one.
Yeah...will never forget Joel's tone during the Utah game when he saw Nate's injury on the replay.....****ing heartbreaking. Joel knew the game was over at the point. They were also leading against Utah at half time in 2020. Landman got hurt and the defense fell apart. They lost to Utah by 17 and Texas by 32. I guess that doesn’t qualify as getting their brains beat in your world. Losing Landman was big, but the offense doing nothing for 95% of the second half was also a significant factor in the game’s final score. They were also leading against Utah at half time in 2020. My attention span is negative at this point. Meaning I'm not bothering to watch.I'm trying to work out the over/under on my attention span this season. Last season I was out after 2.5 games. Being an optimist, I'm setting the number at 3 this season!
Dorrell went into fall camp thinking 5 wins and after the first day of practice he bumped that up to 7. I figure by the end of camp they’ll be undefeated and in the playoffs. Progress! They were also leading against Utah at half time in 2020. Landman got hurt and the defense fell apart. Bow season?I missed that game, it was hunting season. I watched UNC and was done by the 3rd qtr of the Minni game. Only got tiny bits and pieces the rest of the year.
I will watch the TCU game, I will listen to Air Force (Once again hunting) those 2 games will define my efforts put into CU football for the rest of the year
That’s the silver lining of Karl Dorrell… I get a full 4 weeks of archery season! Listening to the buffs lose on AM radio in my sleeping bag just hits different. Pheasant season in the freezing November winds of Kansas are a great backdrop for getting pounded by Utah tooBow season?
MuzzleloaderBow season?
Bow season?

Our meaning yours? I don’t have any hope/delusions about Colorado Football.I know but “hope” is our only strategy
I get a week for muzzleloader and a week for 2nd season rifle. So thats Air Force and ASU on the radio, then dove season rolls into pheasants, so I will find many excuses to miss games this year. That’s the silver lining of Karl Dorrell… I get a full 4 weeks of archery season! Ill never forget watching the last NEB win on my phone in the Jefferson Wilderness during an early season deer hunt. That’s the silver lining of Karl Dorrell… I get a full 4 weeks of archery season! My problem right now is debating whether or not to pay $50/month for the Pac-12 network. My attention span is negative at this point. Meaning I'm not bothering to watch.
If they win 2 of their first 3, then maybe I'll start paying attention again. But right now, much to my wife's happiness, my fall saturdays are looking pretty busy with things other than CU football.
My problem right now is debating whether or not to pay $50/month for the Pac-12 network.
Yeah - I'm not. And the good news is that sling can turn that on in <3 minutes and pro-rate the bill if miracles start happening. My problem right now is debating whether or not to pay $50/month for the Pac-12 network.
