2025-2026 Roster

Other thoughts on Buffs roster & Big-12 this year:

Harder to predict teams in time of major Portal rebuilds, but Big-12 has top Frosh class, & more teams relaying on youth. So good time for Buffs to be building with youth too. Yes, we're relying on Hargress, Dak, Malone & Rancik in BIG WAYS this year. But every year's goal needs to be Top-10 or 11 finish & NCAA bubble bid? I'll pick K-St & CU to finish over TCU for 9th & 10th, w/ Cinci & OK-St's deep portal talent maybe on similar Bubble Tier?

FrontCourt still thin:
-Tacko is tough, D & Rbding needs to be good enough for minutes behind Malone this year, jump shot's not broken, but needs to improve 3pt.for future?
-Injury to Dak prevents him from playing this summer, really hope he comes back with some weight on, 1 of 4 teams in Australia is tough National team, so maybe Van Elswyk gets chance to show how ready he is the 1st part of year? But Tad seems to have prepped him for redshirt- if he's not ready now.
-Only former Walk-On is 6'8 ex-Fossil Ridge HS's Nick Randal, who showed toughness & touch around the hoop in last years exhibition. May need him sometime this year, if we don't fill last spot with another F and/or Van Elswyk redshirts? I like that Van
-6'5 Inman only guy currently listed as G/F. He may already have better D as Small Forward than 6'6's Crawford & Mani? Also could be that Crawford & Mani both played Point Guard in High School, where-as Inman was recruited as a Wing from the jump. Inman w/ good 3Pt & Open-Court Game too.
-Crawford wants chance at Pt, but maybe gets more minutes at SF? The fact he says his 3pt & muscle-mass improved during redshirt is a good sign.

Backcourt young, but skilled & deep (essentially more 3 guard lineups, unless last spot is filled by more of a combo 3/4 F- like Rancik?)
-Yes, we need some of the young guys to contribute, & Sanders & Holland look the most logical choices. Sander's bully-guard game could be good fit to start with Hargress? Holland could be one of the primary offensive options coming off the bench? Holland saying he needs to improve conditioning, but doesn't seems like his offensive game has ever been in question. Rancik & he best 3pt shooters on team? Tad has high hopes for his defensive potential.
-Kossaras (& Crawford?) need to show some leadership, to set tone on D & Rbding w/ the new guys? Even if it's not as much scoring & play-making?
-Mani may prove to be better player than most think, he played Pt & had good 3pt in HS. Was his 1st year down year? Maybe contributes by next year?
-Johnson, like Van Elswyk, knows he needs to add weight & is prepared for Redshirt year. But his advanced offensive bag went to next level this year, including averaging 31 points in 4 games at Damian Classic (High was 41) vs elite competition. Then a couple of 39 & 43 pt games in CA Playoffs! Yes, 170, is a waif of a 6' guard, but his dad the NBA-trainer has a thick frame & even if he gets to 185- he could be a great PtG w/ Hargress & then Sanders?

Okay people, some of you are channeling Dorrell-era level recruiting rationalization here. SMDH.
Dorrell wouldn’t have landed Sanders or Holland. People forget this is our 6th high school recruit well after the normal recruiting period.

You won’t know any names of players Tad brings in at this point and that’s okay.

Love your enthusiasm and detailed effort, but if this turns out to be fact by end of season, we will likely be even worse than my low hopes. My prayer is on Sanders AND Holland making huge, beyond belief, surprising leaps in in the last few months through Dec…and jellying like crazy at a Jordan/Pippen level…beating out Hargress for playing time…then we’ll be mid table and a fun season.
