Well, at least tickets will be easy to come by....

I love Tad. I'm biased as all **** as I sat through some horrible hoops in my time. Tad's ceiling may be limited, but his floor is higher than most. I get the frustration, and I feel it too, but with Tad I at least know our teams are gonna bust their ass and get better as the season goes on. With the unknown, it could get seriously ugly (or seriously good) but considering the amount of support our AD gives I feel like I'd rather go with the "sure thing" than roll the dice.
Not trying to be a dick, but this year's team didn't get any better. And they sure as **** didn't bust their ass in Vegas.

When Tad said he was only going to use 13 scholarships, and have 2 walkons, it meant to me he wasn't going for the most talented roster possible, but instead was following his personal philosophies. I think that the transfers may have seen it the same way, helping them decide it was time to move on.

I think the world of Tad, but it may be time.

I took it as "I can't play 15 guys and I'm better off if I spread the NIL budget across 13."

I've said it before. I'm all for firing Tad, if somebody can come up with somebody who is going to do better with the resources that are available.

Before Tad got here we had a whole string of coaches, including some that at the time seemed like decent hires end up failing big time.

Odds are that whoever we hire doesn't do as well as Tad has, guaranteed that if he does do better he's out the door immediately to a job with better support.

If Buffs fans want more wins it isn't coming from getting a different coach, it comes from giving the coach we have the resources to compete with other schools in our conference.

I don't think you fire the greatest basketball coach in school history. Partially one year removed from the most wins in school history and having 3 players drafted in the NBA. Tad will leave if he is in over his head or is quietly suggested to go. It would be a bad look for current and formers players and a potential new coach, to fire him one year after his best season. NIL has changed the landscape, Tad will retire soon. I think he wants to leave on a positive note, not a losing record.

The "Seriously good" option only comes with some serious shadiness, and either bounces to a bigger program, or bounces to avoid the blow back.

Seriously Ugly is far more likely.

But in the end, it matters on how much the AD wants to support the basketball programs, and if they all of a sudden decide to dump a bunch of money into the program, why also spend money on a new coach, why not see what Tad can do with the proper funding?

Yeah...

What worries me is the narrative here. Tad was, at least publicly, confident the rest of the team would stay intact. We're starting to cut towards the bone now, and the needed transfer bill is just rising...
Remember how shocked Tad was when Lovering left?

I'm not sure his floor with the current NIL landscape is the same as his floor two years ago. My gut says the bball program is solidified as a Big 12 bottom-feeder under Tad. This year's roster was rough and is trending worse.

Depends a lot on the congressional resolution which will set the profit share dollars. It may somewhat even the playing field for CU in the Big 12. At that point, what we'll struggle to match is the under the table money, but Tad has competed successfully in the past when that was the only obstacle.

Seems like it's not impossible to recruit without big NIL $$$. CSU's new coach, Ali Farokhmanesh, has signed 2 of the Top 20 combo guards in the transfer portal, including the #4 combo guard.

CSU is doing pretty well in the portal. Don’t know anything about their NIL $$ situation, but their new head coach is supposedly a hell of a recruiter, and was doing the bulk of the recruiting under former HC Nico Medved. Their recent performance in the NCAA tourney definitely can’t hurt their efforts.

Season ticket holder for 30+ years and went to 5 P12 tournaments. My 4 men's basketball tickets for last season were $4,100. I knew it was going to be bad but I didn't think that bad. I ended up going to more women's games then men's games. Struggling with the thought of renewing all my seats in the same location for what is looking like a similar product. Hating NIL since for basketball we aren't keeping up and Tad isn't cut out for it.

I am a bit surprised he is transferring from Syracuse. He had a sweet deal there and is the owner of a restaurant there which I figured would be a business prop that would keep him at Cuse.
Looking for $$$

He’ll end up at another blue blood or the highest bidder
