2025 NCAA Tournament Games Thread

His feet hit the floor three times after dribble stoppage. He drifted backward after the third. Queen did get a freebie travel on a paint score with like five minutes left.
By the rule book he probably travelled but they called it exactly like they always do, if the refs are consistent I have no issue.

Go Lobos!!

Pbs Nature Wolf GIF by Nature on PBS

If Boyle had a $0 buyout he wouldn’t and shouldn’t be fired
Same question as I always ask. Who could CU realistically get who would do better in the situation the Buffs have.

Still waiting.

We would all love to see the Buffs as an upper level program but we don't have the money for NIL, don't have the tradition, don't have a fertile recruiting home state.

If we had one or more big money boosters step up we could do better but it doesn't look like that is coming soon, and neither is a better coach that Tad, or if one did he would right back out the door.

Plucky, upstart basketball team from Ft. Collins goes on a late-season tear and makes it to the round of 32. Then plucky upstart mostly controls the next game but loses a heart breaker to the favorite in the best game of the tourney. Improbable villain of the story: Tad Boyle.

Moving on, back in preseason, I was led to believe that this was to be Iowa State's year. They suck.

Queen traveled, but I have been noticing all year that refs have been giving players the benefit of the doubt in terms of taking an extra step while going up. There was nothing wrong with that final shot. Having said that, Reese pulling the CSU player toward him on a rebound and getting rewarded with two shots on the possession prior was a bad call. I also found it surprising that a team who went inside as much as CSU did in the second only drew 5 fouls in the second half.

All in all, in what is a surprise to no one, the refereeing has been suspect in the tournament so far. I cannot for the life of me understand that a billion dollar event can't do better in terms of officiating.

I also do feel for CSU fans, because that shot by Queen ended the Niko Medved era in Fort Collins.

Tad didn’t drive him off, lol.

Nique didn’t put in the work while he was here.

Just look at the difference in his body from his junior year here to his first year at CSU.

Fairly certain that Tad recruited Cody Williams over him and so Nique decided to go elsewhere. No one should blame anyone. Would have been cool if we got a little more from Cody, but what happened happened and being mad at Tad for Clifford's success at CSU is just ignoring the reality of the situation.

That's funny. Tad Boyle's team could not make the Sweet 16 with two first round picks and a second rounder. He followed that up with a dismal season this year, and his big plan for next year is to add "1 or 2" transfers when CU probably need 3 or 4. He dislikes the new state of college basketball, and no one would hire him now. Why should CU be stuck with him forever?

Recruited Cody Williams and the team had TDS and KJ Simpson, both of whom are also now playing in the league.

Nique was not going to be a focal point and he knew it, his play reflected him not being happy being a secondary player. When he got to Fort Collins he saw that he could be a primary option on offense and it motivated him to work much harder.

I don't blame him and I don't blame Tad. Tad saw the potential when he recruited him, and he took a lot of grief for recruiting him. Unfortunately it took Nique doing his part to reach that potential and it didn't happen in Boulder.

There are examples in every sport of players who were much better, even totally different players in a different situation.

They are earning a lot of the whistles, though. They are finally showing they are the much better team

Sure they were definitely the better team. When a team like UNM is going up against one of the better teams from a P5 you have to have a hot night and shoot the ball much better than the Lobos did.

Did Tad steel your girlfriend?
