2025 Spring Football

I hate to see him go, but silver lining, maybe this gets Mikell some more playing time.

On pure arm talent, Montez was special.

Montez had everything it takes to be an outstanding QB,

Except that innner drive to want to be an outstanding QB and do what it took to be one.

I have a hunch that Montez wouldn't have lasted very long with Prime, even if it meant playing a much less talented guy.
The only thing that kept Montez from being an elite QB was a lack of braincells. He had the arm, but when things got more than base level complicated, it was over.

From what I had heard that wasn't due to a lack of ability to learn things, he simply didn't bother to put the time and effort into it.

It's very rare to hear about a successful QB who isn't one of the first in, last out guys when it comes to practice, who doesn't put the time in watching film, who isn't the one pushing his receivers to do more prep work.

Montez was more interested in having fun with his frat brothers than looking for opponents tendencies. That internal drive to be better, to spend the extra time and energy, isn't something you can turn on or off.

Sean Peyton was talking about Bo Nix and their pre-draft meetings with him. They met one day, gave him some film to study, and then met the next morning expecting Bo to talk about certain things on the film. He did bring those things up before the Broncos staff could prompt him, he also brought up some other stuff that wasn't on that film. Bo had gotten ahold of some other Broncos game film and was asking things the coaches weren't ready for.

Montez was ready to talk about frozen pizza and beer.

That's bullshvt. He was more interested in sliding down about 2 yards in front of the first down marker.:D

Micah & Mikell would complement each other well, with Micah as a workhorse and then Mikell spelling him as a change of pace/ home run threat,
They already believe they have their change of pace back in Hood. Hayden is seen as the in-between of the two.

Quick and completely random observations from yesterday's scrimmage:
- Timmons can go ahead and go now. That would allow us to get Mikell and Williams on the field on the outside and both are better.
- We need 2-3 more LEGIT OLinemen ASAP. The line's iffy at best. All three QBs were skittish in the pocket and throwing off their back foot. That's caused by a lack of trust in their OL.
- TE room is still azz.
- Attia running at center makes sense.
- Why are we calling so many 50/50 balls?
- Love Charlie but get him da fvck out of the 1/2 rotation. Christ, are we gonna go through this again?
- We looked pretty sh!tty across the board TBH.

You all realize we're winning the Big 12 next year, right?
Checks out.
