2025 Spring Football

Zero chance CU is in the bottom half of the conference.
I completely get why they show a massive drop off. We lost 3 All American caliber players at the most important positions QB, WR, DB. We have huge turnover and swap from easiest conference schedule to hardest. We fiddled at the end of season. We had a great record in close games last year. At least 9 times out of ten that team steps back significantly the next year.

We probably go .500 breaking in a new QB

I mean if you only look t the negatives, sure. However, this team has significantly more talent at both lines and brings in huge talent at WR and the DB spots. The only two questions on this team compared to last year are QB and linebacker. I suspect you will see a very different but very good CU team this year that will…..wait for it…actually run the rock.

Given the recent past I’m in the Show Me mode on the OL…..

The minds at CBS put us 10th
I think we may have the best defense in the conference this year. The offense is looking bottom 5 if we don't make huge improvements from the spring. Especially the WRs and QB play. Salter has to be 2023 Salter and some. Still worried about the backs and TEs. Less concerned about the OL.

I'm still skeptical on the build an OL through the portal strategy. The only real gem on the OL is Seaton. The rest have something to prove and I hope they do...
It’s a position where continuity really matters. A rushed fall camp of shuffling guys who transferred in the spring through a handful of positions doesn’t lead to good things in September.

Gooden & Smith in this year's class. Plus, a good number of the transfers we have accepted the past couple years have multiple seasons of eligibility. It's mostly at C where we've had a revolving door on the developmental pipeline.

I like Carde Smith. To me, he has the potential of Seaton 2.0. Gooden? well, he looks good, but you have to admit, the track record of bringing in guys from other programs has been pretty poor. Justin Mayes came in and was a solid contributor, but for every Mayes, you have guys like Tyler Johnson, Kahlil Benson, Jatta, Bailey, Bebee who are supposed to be all that, and end up not doing much and then moving on.

I don't see either as much of an improvement over Houston. Maybe the TN guy. Guess we'll see.

But hey, at least we have 17 WR and 2 RBs.
I think the size and experience alone are upgrades over Houston. CU is going to run the ball this year and having a OL that averages 340+ will help a lot. Also, Two guys who have started multiple games in the B1G and SEC competing for one spot shouldn’t be downplayed. We are getting to a point in conference talent disparity where B1G and SEC players are transferring “down” to the Big 12 and (most) ACC programs in the same way Big 12 players who can’t play at a high level transfer to G5.

the coaching staff is excited about freshman CJ Carr, the grandson of former Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, who was rated the No. 2 pocket passer in the 2024 recruiting class by ESPN. He battled an elbow injury on his throwing arm this past season.

I have no idea how these clowns make these rankings.

Kam Mikkel has to be moved to RB even though our brilliant OC shot it down at the end of camp, WTF is Coach Faulk doing, get us some backs
