LUV 3 Colorado natives for CU in ‘26:
1) Julian’s younger brother-Jeremiah- above could be Too-50 type talent? May get too big of national recruiting for Tad; or maybe not?
2) Gavin Placide @Gav1placide - ESPN’s Top-10th best power forward.
3) Gavin’s twin brother Gallagher Placide @Gallagher_P7 ESPN’s 20th best power forward:

With Olympic Training Center so close, I guess it's not surprising Tad & Co. were there- but surprising to me the 3 guys 247Sports article below lists CU interest in:
#6 Tajh Ariza - 6'8 elite wing, reminds me of Cody some, including has played some Point Guard.
#12 Cameron Holmes - 6'6 lefty Wing that has played 1-3 spots
#32 Davion Adkins- tough & motored 6'8 lefty PF/C
In-depth analysis of what we saw from the top prospects at USA Basketball U17 Trials and the college programs making initial contact.
247sports.com
Previous interest reported from CU for:
#63 Bo Ogden- 6'6 Wing, elite shooting & motor
Some potential CU interest, based on X-Twitter Universe:
#68 Katrelle Harmon- elite 6'4 combo guard from Washington
#75 Gavin Placide- 6'8/ 6'9 Combo F, Colorado native (& bro) transferred from Utah prep to Kansas's Sunrise Christian (even easier for CU to stay in contact there).
#119 Gallagher Placide - all ratings are 247Sports COMPOSITE, but Gallagher #76 on 247's own rating. Smaller class may limit taking both twins. Interview I listened to, there seemed to be super-high level of sibling rivalry- with both of them repeatedly dissing each other. Makes me think they could easily go to different schools.
- Early hype on Jeremiah Hammonds, Julian's brother, seems to have died down some. 6'3 & seems to be more scoring point guard. His Utah Prospects Prep team is deep, so probably will get ranked when he starts getting more burn-time on court. Jeremiah listed as "Eye Catcher" by Pro Insight:
I’ll say it again: Ariza, Holmes & Adkins are some seriously first-rate ‘26 guys to go after - out of the gate! Maybe just ‘cause Tad & Co. were in Colorado Springs w/ these guys when date allowing outreach to ‘26 guys happened? But serious home-runs:
-Tajh Ariza PtF, All-around game, like Cody!
-Cameron Holmes’ brother DaRon just drafted by Nuggets, 1 of purest jump-shooters, & love his constant positivity!
-Davion Adkins maybe best shot & best fit: elite tough F, willing to do the dirty work/little things, improving jumper for 5-Out O!
Sorry that link came through duplicate & cropped short. Try again:
2028 BIG MAN DYLAN BETTS WILL BE A BIG NAME IN GRASSROOTS
Dylan Betts (Photo: Travis Branham, 247Sports)
The Class of 2028 is making their way up into high school and I think it is safe to say that Dylan Betts of Englewood (Colo.) Cherry Creek will be a big-time name that we will be following for the years to come.
He is a near seven-footer with tremendous length and while he is young with and his body is still physically maturing, he has a frame that should be able to carry plenty of muscle as he continues to grow.
The size and length aren't the only impressive attributes of Betts as he also has great hands and touch with both hands around the rim, already possessing some skill as well as the ability to block shots on defense.
Betts has tremendous upside and he comes from a serious family of athletes. His father played professionally; his mother was an All-American volleyball player while his sisters are also basketball stars. His oldest sister Laruen was the class of 2022's No. ranked high school player and just completed an All-Pac 12 season at UCLA. His other sister Sienna, is currently the No. 2 ranked player in the class of 2025.
There's a bright future ahead of Dylan and likely one that is closely monitored on the national scale. He finished with 15 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in this one. --Branham
PS: interesting high number of lefties Colorado been on recently: ‘25s Muldrew & Holland; ‘26s Holmes & Adkins; ‘28 Betts? (I may not be remembering which Gus who are south-paws correctly). We know Tad loves those lefties!
Verbal Commits listed Toni Bryant getting 1st CU offer for ‘26 class. Moved from top 40 to top 20. May be too rich for us, but Luv elite Defensive forward-averaged 9 blocks! Must be our early home run offer that Tad has talked about doing in recent years.
Cameron Waithe-Cunningham is a 6'5" Point Guard in the 2027 class. Waithe-Cunningham attends Liberty in Colorado and plays club basketball for L.O.B. Elite.
