Reported Offers: COLORADO, Arizona, Iowa State, Rutgers, St. Johns, TCU, Washington State

247 article about his recruitment (free) here.

“More than likely it’s going to be college,” Giddey said. “I went on an official to Colorado, and I got to see what college was like. Thinking more about it, I realize the pro door is always going to be open, where the college door closes.”

Giddey had high praise for the trip to Colorado.

“It was great,” he said. “The coaches were great, the school was good, and I had a good time.”

Love that offer list and the guard skills at his height.

Earn some coffee, Nate.

Giddey currently claims scholarship offers from Arizona, Baylor, Colorado, Ohio State, Oklahoma and TCU. He also noted that he’s receiving interest from Louisville, Marquette, Georgetown and Iowa State.

that is a serious offer list.

Dinwiddieish is a word.
I remember when Spencer was being recruited that we saw snippets about how other players loved playing with him because of how he commanded the court and distributed the ball. I saw a lot of that in this video (Giddey is one hell of a passer with mature court awareness).

Here are some scoring highlights. Seems to have nice touch on his shot, but what really stands out to me is how well he uses angles and his length to finish around the basket.

The first set of highlights did nothing for me, but this one....well, I have one question, when did Larry go to Australia to have an illegitimate love child?

I like that he looks to get to the basket first, find others too, instead of jacking it up from 35. He's got the little runner down. Good weapon to have at his size.

Didn't see your clip till a bit ago. Dude has some good vision and court awareness, he finds his teammates when they're shot ready. He has a good feel about where everybody is gonna be. Being 6 '7" is a bonus. The competition isn't tremendous and there is only so much you can take from a highlight reel, but he has some skills. He's listed as SF or SG, looks like a point or combo guard, to me.

His dad (Warrick “wazzer” Giddey) played in the NBL when I lived in Australia. Tad would’ve loved his dad too. Guy was all hustle, defense and rebounding specialist. The commentators in the video above make reference to his dad in the opening remarks.

10. New Orleans Pelicans

New Orleans' pick appears to be the most available via trade in the top-10, with significant urgency building to surround Zion Williamson with the type of pieces needed to make the playoffs and be competitive. Regardless of who is making this pick, Giddey seems likely to go off the board right around this range (and possibly even earlier to Golden State), thanks in part to an impressive showing with the Australian national team in an exhibition game against Nigeria in Las Vegas -- under the watchful eye of countless NBA decision-makers. Giddey is one of the best passers in the draft and offers outstanding versatility as a 6-foot-9 guard who can operate on or off the ball, and should improve as a shooter and defender eventually as his frame fills out and he gains experience.

What - We didn't even make his Top 3? Can't afford to lose talent like this to programs like New Orleans.

(Yes, that joke would have been much funnier back in February. I was busy.)
