'21 WY C Lawson Lovering (SIGNED to COLORADO)

It seems like their offense was to look to post up Lovering, if no help he went to work. If they helped down, then he kicked it out to the perimeter. They had some shooters, so it worked. State champs.
lol. I'm in no position to judge, but that feels dirty. Respect the dedication though.

This is why college basketball coaches don't recruit high schools. The only way to gauge is how they perform on traveling teams.

Dallas needs to give him some tips on free throw shooting to get him up to the team average of 83%.

Dude knows what he needs to do to be the best version of himself. I'm glad to hear it, hope to see it.

That said, good luck big guy!

Wish him well...but did not meet expectations. Missed dunks, barely a 50% shooter, below 50% from the line and less than 5 pts/game (career). This will be exceeded by an incomer.

The truth. Wish him well at Utah except vs. Buffs.
Would have preferred as well that he went outside our conference.

In HS he played some AAU ball in Utah, probably got to know people there when he did that.

Agree…but did not play to his recruiting rankings.
I had no problem. Big men often take time to develop, he was working hard and getting notably better on both ends of the floor.

He isn't going to be a star, especially on offense but don't be surprised if he isn't a very good player for Utah.

The ones who do usually are gone to the NBA instead of transfer portal.
There’s a clip earlier in this thread of a highlight of Lawson faking a dribble handoff taking his man off the dribble, spin move in the lane and finish and everyone was freaking out as it was against another 5*.

That 5 star was Damion Collins who signed with Kentucky. His career stat line is below.

To everyone point it takes time with big men and recruiting rankings are tough the rely on. Especially the 21 class in general looking back that class had junior year in Covid. Looking back that class had a lot of underperforming players.

Emoni Bates, Patrick Baldwin, Caleb Houstan, Moussa Diabate, Damion Collins, Peyton Watson, JD Davison, Harrison Ingram.

A lot of touted recruits that haven’t done much or were drafted of reputation and not stats.

Unfortunately for us that was the year Tad went out and recruited the 13th best class in the nation.
