'22 CO OT George Fitzpatrick (Signed to Ohio State)

Ohio State brought in two experienced tackles via the portal for next year, so it seems like he would’ve have likely been a reserve again. Obviously, nobody would transfer as a projected stater at Ohio State. Fitzpatrick played sparingly, but definitely someone the Buffs should look at if he wants to come home to Colorado. CU has a need, there are no entrenched starters at RT, and Colorado is home. Seems like a good match.

Anything linking him so far other than the fit?

Nope. He was known to be entering the portal for some time now, but waited until Ohio State was finished with its run through the playoffs to formally enter. He has not been linked to any program publicly that I can find.

I did see that Tennessee scouting services did a target report for him, so it would seem he is going to draw P4 interest from several teams. Potential to start and fit are probably his biggest drivers, but there is always NIL implications too.

One guy who hasn't decided on a school yet is backup offensive tackle George Fitzpatrick. Like a lot of Buckeyes, he couldn't quite find steady snaps on a loaded roster, and now, he will try to go somewhere where he can be a bigger piece of the puzzle.
The 6'6", 313-pound Colorado native spent three seasons in Columbus, so he already has a conditioned physique ready to step in and be a starter for somebody. This is a kid with two seasons of eligibility remaining who could be a big plug-and-play guy along the offensive front of a Power 5 program.
He saw action in 13 games this year, including in the quarterfinal victory over Oregon, so he has seen a lot of action in some meaningful games.
Fitzpatrick told Eleven Warriors this was a "hard decision," but he will be able to have a clearer path to playing time elsewhere.
Coming out of college in the 2022 class, he chose the Buckeyes over Oregon, Oklahoma, Florida and Michigan, and he has only allowed a single pressure in his career and no sacks, according to 247Sports' Chris Hummer. There will be a lot of teams that take the chance to see that over a larger sample set.

Fit?

The only links I have seen are on this thread cuz he played high school football in Colorado.
From Colorado, was a McCheese six zero kid I believe, plays RT, CU has a glaring need at RT, he has said that depth chart and playing time are his primary considerations. That's called "fit". Now, whether the staff wants to bring him in, whether he wants to come home, and whether there is $$ for him are different and the obviously important considerations.
