5 Star via 247.
Huh?5 Star via 247.
Da Lama. I’ve watched about half of their practices this year I’ve never seen anything like it. His speed is obvious. But he is so young and has no fear running between the tackles.22nd nationally seems a bit much. Don't get me wrong, I was in on him early on this board, but that seems really high from what I've seen.
I coached against McCaffrey twice (his Junior and Senior years) and he is still to this day, the best high school player I've ever seen in person. I'll have to watch Sawchuk this season and see how he compares from my personal eye test.Da Lama. I’ve watched about half of their practices this year I’ve never seen anything like it. The best comparison I can come up with is Chauncey Billups. You watch and you just know.
I think he’s that kind of special.

The team I coached for here in CO is one of the traditional (last 8-10 years) powers in 5A and McCaffrey made us look like a JV team. I'll be interested to see what Sawchuk looks like this year.I was lucky enough to be teaching in Miami in 2000-2001. The school where I taught played Coral Gables and I got to witness a young Frank Gore annihilate our team. We were one of the better teams in Florida too. It didn’t matter. That was crazy.
Huh?
He's a 4 star on 247, but he's a five star on 247's composite rating system.He's a 4*, but he's 22nd nationally. So he's a really high 4*.
Weird. His personal 247 page doesn't have a Composite Ranking...He's a 4 star on 247, but he's a five star on 247's composite rating system.

The 247Sports Composite Rating is a proprietary algorithm that compiles prospect "rankings" and "ratings" listed in the public domain by the major media recruiting services. It converts average industry ranks and ratings into a linear composite index capping at 1.0000, which indicates a consensus No. 1 prospect across all services.
The 247Sports Composite Rating is the industry's most comprehensive and unbiased prospect ranking and is also used to generate 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.

Olympics are this Summer. If he has a legitimate shot, I feel like he would be able to do that and play CFB. If he's not Olympic bound this time, then he can try again in 4 years. If he has a legitimate shot at the olympics, he should go track. I don’t know if that’s the case or not.
A 60 time of 6.77 extrapolates to approximately 10.39 in the 100 meters. That is FAST and certainly puts him on a long term plan to compete with the elites in track and field. However, there will be between 5-8 high school athletes who will run under 6.77 almost every year. Given this fact and the fact that Track doesn't have the earning potential, it would be silly of the young man to focus solely on track or even to contemplate making a choice to go one way or the other at this age.If he has a legitimate shot at the olympics, he should go track. I don’t know if that’s the case or not.
I think training for the Olympics is something you do full time.Olympics are this Summer. If he has a legitimate shot, I feel like he would be able to do that and play CFB. If he's not Olympic bound this time, then he can try again in 4 years.
