Arkansas 247 had just put up an article (free) about his rise this spring before he entered the portal.

, 6-2, 181, might not figure into the rotation this season in the Arkansas secondary at safety, but that doesn't mean he hasn't made a lot of improvement. If not for the addition of transfers like Miguel Mitchell and Doneiko Slaughter, Johnson would likely be in the mix this season. Arkansas brought in six defensive backs in the Class of 2023. Jaylon Braxton and TJ Metcalf have already played a role, but RJ Johnson has taken a big step forward and should be a contributor for the Razorbacks down the line. Look for him to play a role on special teams primarily in 2024.
 
coach and staff are legit pulling guys at a whole different level of background and competition. no recruiter on our staff since Mac was here as been this good at getting guys from sec territory to come up here.
