Checked Ohio State twitter and the main takeaway seems to be that while they have an incredible duo at the top of the depth chart, they will miss Hayden. “Always stepped up to the plate when his number was called,” was said in a number of ways.

Allan Trieu’s HS scouting report is basically the dream RB for a lot of us lol:

Has a college-ready build at a sturdy 195 pounds. Highly productive junior season which showed he could break long runs and hit creases with burst and acceleration but is also a physical runner who will lower his shoulder and initiate contact when he needs to. Runs hard, and does not stop on contact. Shows wiggle and elusiveness but mostly appears to be a one cut and go back. Has shown that he can catch the ball and run routes and uses his physicality as a pass-blocker as well.

It almost feels like horse trading or at an auction at this point. We lose Hank #33RB/#334 overall . . . we add Welch as a very promising EE Frosh. We lose McKaskill #73RB/#815 overall . . . add Hayden #44RB/#454 overall. DE and Charlie O are still here. Presuming Hayden is healthy, which it looks like he is, I would say the RB room is better.

Onto LB's, more Oline, a TE, and I don't think you can ever get enough Dline!!
