IRVING, Texas – The Colorado women's basketball team learned its conference opponents and destinations for the 2025-26 season on Thursday, with the Big 12 Conference announcing the league's matchups.
The Buffaloes, entering their second season in the Big 12, will host Cincinnati, Iowa State, TCU, Texas Tech, Utah and West Virginia.
CU will visit the likes of Arizona State, Baylor, UCF, Houston, Kansas and Kansas State.
The schedule will also feature home and away contests against Arizona, BYU and Oklahoma State.
The 2025-26 season will mark Colorado's first visit to Central Florida and Houston, having hosted both schools last season. The Buffaloes will make their first trip to Kansas and iconic Allen Fieldhouse for the first time since Feb. 2, 2011.
On the home front, Cincinnati will make its first appearance in Boulder, while BYU will make the trip for the first time since the 2002-03 season.

It is hard when the team changes over so much every year. I was looking forward to seeing her play and improve. Now I don't know if I am looking forward to anybody right now as I just don't know any of them and the 3 returners don't really excite me that much
I didn't expect the transfer rules and NIL situation to help sports like WBB but it seems like they have been hit even harder than the big revenue sports of football and MBB.
After almost completely turning over the team last year again it will be essentially a new team with currently only three returning players from last year. Also look and the players we will be seeing in Buffs uniforms are also transfers, K-State, Gonzaga, N. Texas, etc. etc.. Not only has our team lost a bunch of players that fans emotionally invested in but all of the transfers have done the same thing to the schools they are coming from.
I just don't see it as being good for the sport, the young women (didn't say athletes because there is a much larger component to their years as a D1 player,) the schools, or the fans.
Can't blame Betson for her choice, she's been in the US for 5 years now and a long ways from family and home. unless playing college ball in the US was going to lead to something larger like the WNBA there isn't much she can't accomplish in Australia that she could here but for many of the other young women chasing a better situation isn't likely to turn out for them.
Meanwhile I can see all this costing college sports fans and eventually support.
It's still going to take some schools with courage to start the process but I think eventually we will see some schools decide that playing the way things are going right now doesn't fit their mission and scale back.
It may be just going to club sports, it may be going D2, it may be forming a completely new association with similar minded schools and a different set of rules.
Along the line they would likely need some enabling legislation to be passed giving them anti-trust exemptions and exempting them from some of the laws that opened the doors for the current issues but I don't see that as a problem.
Once it is started I think that some fans might be surprised by the names of some schools that choose to go that route.
I do not blame Tabitha for leaving a sh*thole country to return home. I wish her timing had been better.
In my communication with the WBB staff a few weeks ago, I was told they are hearing the same sentiment from others about the emotional investment we have with players, people not renewing season tickets, etc.
For a school like CU, that will hurt financially and the house that JR is building will fall apart.

The Buffs will take on opponents from three different conferences over a four-day stretch:

Hernandez helped UTA to a 20-8 record, to win the Sun Belt Tournament and to an NCAA appearance.
This will be the Buffs' first meeting with the VCU Rams, but CU has a history with Texas A&M. The teams will meet for the 20th time in program history and for the first time since the 2010-11 season. The Buffs are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak to the Aggies, as their last win came in 2004 when CU won 70-58 (Jan 21).

IRVING, Texas – Colorado Women's Basketball senior forward Jade Masogayo (Fort Worth, Texas/Fossil Ridge HS) was named to the 10-player 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Preseason Team, the Conference announced on Thursday, Oct. 9.
Masogayo played and started in all 33 games in the 2024-25 season for the Buffs. She led Colorado with a career-high 12.5 points per game, averaging 4.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists. She reached double-digit points in 24 games, shooting 59.9 % from the field overall, which ranked 12th in the NCAA. In the team's win over Arizona last season, Masogayo logged her first double-double at CU with 19 points and 14 rebounds (Feb. 5). Against No. 8 TCU, she recorded a season-high 22 points, and against No. 10 Kansas State, she tied the CU record for blocks in a quarter with three in the fourth quarter, finishing the game with a season-high four blocks. Following the conclusion of the season, she earned Big 12 All-Conference Honorable Mention.
As a team, the Buffs were slotted to finish ninth in the Big 12 Preseason Coaches' Poll. This marks Colorado's second season back in the Big 12 after rejoining the Conference in 2024.
The poll and preseason honors were determined by the Big 12 head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own teams or players. This year's preseason team consists of 10 student-athletes from eight schools. Baylor and Iowa State led, each with two selected players. The 2025 Big 12 Basketball Preseason Player of the Year went to Iowa State's Audi Crooks, Preseason Newcomer of the Year went to TCU's Olivia Miles, and Preseason Freshman of the Year went to Cincinnati's Dee Alexander.
Colorado starts this season eagerly, with 10 newcomers to the squad, including five transfers in Zyanna Walker (Kansas State), Desiree Wooten (North Texas), Claire O'Connor (Gonzaga), Maeve McErlance (DePaul) and Anaëlle Dutat (Rhode Island). The five freshmen include guard Erianna Gooden (Northside H.S.), center Jade Cook (Basketball Australia Center of Excellence/Lake Ginninderra College), guard Isa Hämäläinen (European School of Luxembourg 1), forward Logyn Greer (Friends' Central School) and forward Sophie Zadel (Alamo Heights H.S).
The Buffs released their full schedule last month, featuring a nationally recognized opponent in Louisville (Nov. 12), a three-game (UT-Arlington, VCU, Texas A&M) trip to the islands at the Hawaii North Shore Showcase (Nov. 22-25), and a hefty slate of home competition. CU's competitive nonconference lineup will test the Buffaloes early and often.
The Buffs begin the 2025-26 season with an exhibition game against the Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 29 before launching into four home games in November. The Buffs tip off the regular season on Nov. 6 against New Mexico. CU then welcomes its first of three Big Sky Conference opponents on Nov. 16 when Portland State visits Boulder. Two days later, the Buffs square off against Boise State (Nov. 18), before wrapping up the month with a long-awaited meeting against Montana State on Nov. 30.
