I could be wrong, but I'd guess Jace feeley is gone. Im not sure his dad criicizes CP if he's still on the team.
Dad probably opened his mouth because he found out this was happening and was PO'd about it

Prime makes no secret about running a program based on NFL concepts including the fact that you are only safe until somebody better comes along.

Dad should understand that better than most parents but when it comes to your own kid objectivity can go out the window.

Idk. Mata has done well but that low trajectory still scares the **** out of me. If this guy can knock them in as consistently as Mata id go with him.
I don’t disagree with the height issue, but once the ball reaches the LOS at…say…18 feet up (or whatever the tallest guy can jump and reach)… the extra height is just being cocky.

Mostly this season Mata was getting the ball higher off his foot except on his longer tries which I would suppose is because he is compensating for not having the strong leg from distance.

Obviously if the new guy can put them through as consistently as Mata with better range and a higher trajectory off the foot then he will be the kicker. Prime plays the guy who performs at the position.

I doubt though that he will be as accurate from short to mid distances as Mata. Let him kick the long ones if they need one, let him kick off, then hopefully we have an experienced kicker ready to step on in 26 when Mata is gone.

I'd be happiest if we have a kicker who leads the nation in extra points.

Mata in 2024 (consistent from 2022 & 2023):

53/53 XP
12/14 FG (85.7%)

Too many of you guys are judging him harshly as a kicker because of how you feel when he kicks instead of by his results. Like bitching about a great free throw shooter because you'd like to see more arc or backspin. It's fvcking ridiculous.

That said, it would be nice to have options and opportunities beyond 45 yards and kickoff touchbacks, so I'm all in favor of a big leg kicker who can focus on a specialized distance role in 2025 and take over all duties in 2026, hoping he'll be as reliable as Mata.
