Have to actually put in time and effort to CO recruiting, outside of inviting them to Boulder for an OV, if you want to actually land these kids.

It’s ironic that it takes more to land CO preps than it does to land upper tier FL and GA preps.
If they're any good, they'll find their way back

Based on insight from players and coaches, dude is definitely overrated. He may be that that ONE GUY that Colorado churns out every year, but all I see and hear is that he's just another big CO kid taking advantage of bullying 6-0 170 OL across from him.

But there would be film of him vs legit D1 OL guys I’d presume from Cherry Creeks schedule? And of course camp work.

The only team they played last year that could put somewhat legit D1 talent across from him was Highland Park.

He may be the real deal, would have been good to bring him to Boulder and find out.

With the current transfer rules if he didn't work out it isn't like he would be tying up one of 85 spots.

I can understand Prime not putting a huge emphasis on Colorado kids though. The old multi-year development model has been blown up by the portal. Also Colorado HS football which was never that strong seems to have declined in comparison to the top talent states

Coach Mac seemed to always have 3-5 Colorado kids playing key roles, these were usually kids that the Buffs had developed and often moved to different positions. Might be hard now to find 3-5 Colorado kids across college football who would be better than what Prime is bringing in from elsewhere.

Camp work is generally not in pads so hard to judge.

Colorado had a total of 2 offensive linemen last year who went to P4 level programs. One who went to Wake Forest and one of his Cherry Creek teammates who signed with Utah, both were tackles so wouldn't be lining up against him anyways. Top interior OL in state went to Air Force and Princeton (another one of his teammates.)

Get a kid out of Georgia, Florida, Texas, etc. and their schedule may have them playing against 4 or more guys who will be getting P4 offers and a few more who are G5/FCS level.

Doesn't mean the Colorado kid can't play but does mean it's harder to evaluate and he is likely going to need more work to adjust to playing higher quality competition. As Lama refers to in college he isn't going to be able to throw guys around just because he is bigger.

Watching some of his film, he better work on pad level. After the snap, he damn near stands straight up. You can get away with that in high school when you outweigh everybody blocking you by about 50 pounds or more. In college, he won't have that luxury but it's something that can be fixed and you can't teach size. Good luck to him.

There are probably more P4 kids playing for Buford HS or Grayson HS in Georgia than the entire state of Colorado.
**** is crazy, HS football is just a whole different animal in the south. Like can you imagine a HS football stadium in Colorado looking like this:

I don't think we should ignore Colorado recruits but it definitely makes sense to focus on other states. Basketball is a different subject though, seems like Colorado produces way more basketball talent than football. For example are there any NFL players from Colorado on the level of Derrick White or Dalton Knecht?
