The wolves are out to feed....
A dose of realism needed for CU fan

I’ve never really been able to understand why, in a region filled with some of the most loyal and knowledgeable fans in all of sports, University of Colorado Buffaloes fan has been able to stand out as the exception rather than the rule. Simply put, CU fan continues to be the worst fan in college athletics.
So it was, once again, during and after Colorado State toppled the Buffs 23-17 at Folsom Field in the season opener. First the constant booing of their starting quarterback…in the FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON, and then the hue and cry afterwards on message boards and talk radio. “Fire the Coach.” “Bench the Quarterback!” Blah blah blah. Hey, at least they didn’t get thrown out of the stadium this time. No, instead Buff fan got up to leave early in the fourth quarter when their team still had a chance to win the game. Incredible. Buff fan at it again.
To put things in perspective, had the Buffs recovered a late onside kick, drove for a touchdown and won the game, the post game rhetoric would have been about how CU was on its way to that 10-win season the coach promised, and heck, maybe a BCS Bowl game, too! Didn’t happen that way, but for Buff fan, there is zero middle ground. No realization that maybe his team is pretty good, but not great. Needs work, but isn’t terrible, either. No, for Buff fan, his team is either the greatest ever or the worst out there. Beat the Rams, and he’s talking unbeaten season and national title (as D lineman George Hypolite was doing after beating CSU last season) and how Oklahoma and Texas can be beat. Lose, and now the sky has fallen and everyone from the coaches to the secretaries should be fired on the spot. For Buff fan, extremes rule.
