Schadenfreude. I has it.
I don't think Mizzou has any shot at the Big10 whatsoever. Mizzou was so sure they were Big10 bound last year (even before CU and Nebraska's respective moves had gained any steam) and it turned out the Big10 had zero interest. Any further Big10 expansion other than the dreams of Notre Dame/Texas will come in the Northeast with Syrause and Rutgers, imo. Mizzou's only shot at a superconference is the SEC, and it goes without saying that they're pretty low down on that pecking order as well. It depends on how extensive the realignment is, but the most likely destination for Mizzou/KU/KSU is the Big East. Sucks for them, but that's a whole lot better than what awaits Baylor and Iowa State. TCU's move to the Big East has left a nice opening for Baylor in the MWC.
I think you guys are underestimating what Mizzou brings to the table, which are the TV markets of Kansas City and St. Louis. That's a lot of TV's. Once ND's TV contract with NBC runs out, I think they'll be amenable to signing on with the B10. As it stands, they're #3 in TV revenues in their own state. They make less from their TV contract than the University of Indiana. Think about that for a second. With ND in the fold, the B10 will want one more school to make it an even 14. That school, IMO, will be Missouri - assuming they aren't already in the SEC by then.
BYU also has their own network and will be less likely to express angst about the LW network. Makes sense. My bet is them asking BYU to fill the void. BYU has no strings attached and they can get a share of the SLC market and they are one of the better mid majors left out there
Cool story gramps
You guys can keep your rumors. I won't believe anything until I hear it directly from Chip Brown's mouth (FACT!), and since that is usually located squarely up Dodd's keister, I'm not expecting news anytime soon.
Seriously, I'm not going to cheer the early demise of the Big 12(10) because when it crumbles (and it will), we are going to be innundated with UT to the Pac-12 rumors...I'd rather see some good, quality, old fashioned Southwest Conference-style, kin-on-kin infighting for the next couple of years, complete with lawsuits and recruiting violation snitches!
I support any action that results in Baylor's banishment to a non-BCS-affilliated conference.
I'm very torn. On the one hand, **** Baylor. On the other, **** all the swc schools who would try and jump to the PAC.

On local radio this afternoon Chip Brown said he thinks A&M to the SEC by the end of the month was around 50-50, however when they put him on the spot, he says if he had to pick he thinks they will go.
I happen to disagree, however I have no sources.
I look forward to chip brown being wrong about this just like he has been wrong about most everything after he broke the PAC-16 story.
Why do you give a damn anymore? We're already in greener pastures brotha.
1. **** chip brown and his lies.
2. **** Texas.
3. **** the big 12-2.
4. **** the risk of the big 12-2 disintegrating and us getting stuck in a pod or division with all those ****** swc schools.
Sigh...it's a TAMU blog site, so it may only have a passing acquaintance with truth/reality...but

Get ready to go back to those fabulous roadies in Lubbock...every other year. I really hope UT convinces folks to hold together and invites BYU.
I'm just not seeing the value of adding Tech.
I don't think its there either, but it may simply be a function of very few viable options and doing something to get into the Texas market. Hell, I think I might prefer Air Force. Though Tech may provide enough of a justification to add the PAC 12 network to the basic tier on cable systems in Texas like we are in all the Pac 12 markets...well West Texas at a minimum. Remember we already have a partnership to do so with Comcast and Time Warner in the other PAC markets, and they own most of the cable households in Texas. The PAC may also be betting that they might have a shot at getting UT by default if they provide a killing blow to the PAC 12. Problem with that is if Texas no longer has a "Tech problem" then they may be free to then act as a free agent and give serious consideration to the Big 10.I'm just not seeing the value of adding Tech.
I highly doubt we'll be seeing TT. There's just no appeal of a Tier 3 academic cesspool with mediocre at best athletics located far, far away from the major population centers of Texas. No way the Pac-12 presidents give a go-ahead on that.
