Alamo Bowl - Colorado vs. BYU—Dec 28— 5:30 PM—ABC

I feel like this is a somewhat interesting matchup for us. We should be the favorite assuming no opt outs like Prime said

I think that both of these teams will remain pretty solid as they are well run, have NIL money, and want to come out strong again next year

Playing a team in your conference in a bowl game is stupid.
Yep. They still could have kept the former Pac schools for the contract and picked from Washington State, USC, Washington, and Cal and avoided an intraconference matchup. But of course they didn’t because the contract doesn’t stipulate that, and money talks, and they’re not dumb.

Oh well. Bring on BYU this year, and I look forward to being guaranteed that this silliness is avoided starting in 2026.

Yep. USC sitting at 6-6 gets A&M in Vegas. Ugh

Another reason why I hate this-the NFL has a week 17 Saturday triple header planned. There will be a game going on on NFLN opposite us. It might even be Denver-Cincinnati.

Money talks is a funny argument to make here-the only draw in this conference (we averaged more than double the viewership of anybody in this ****ing league), and we get a bowl game against a league opponent where we might be playing opposite the local NFL team.

could well be a playoff clincher for the broncos with the way things are going, too

I live in Austin but will be in Colorado, irony...
And your handle implies that you’re in Atlanta

How is that a funny argument though?

It’s pretty accepted amongst most people that money comes along with the Coach Prime experience. The increase in revenue in Boulder on game days would support this.

A lot of recent CU fans have no allegiance to the Broncos, and the viewership numbers in comparison to historical numbers until a couple of years ago will probably show that.

Also, the hype leading up to the game as well as the hope of higher traveling numbers probably played a role.

Among the Prime fans, you're right.

Lifelong CU fans are a different convo.
