Alamo Bowl - Colorado vs. BYU—Dec 28— 5:30 PM—ABC

Who is starting in NHG's place?

It will be interesting to see how they play it, given all the weeks off/extra prep. I think it will be given to a guy on scholarship. Wester or Gant are off the top of my head given they played in 8 games (Srs.), but they might coach-up Garcia/Trenton Hood giving an audition/trial by fire to see what they have. Brown is a shot. We may see more 4-3 with Bentley in the middle, or sort of a dime with a S or 2 crashing.

@Buffnik do bowls count a game toward RS?? I looked at red-shirt status on CU's site, they had Keaton Wade at 4 games, but I thought he played in more and I think he was a 2 to play 2 anyways. He showed flashes filling in for Hayes (as did other guys--all stepped up well). In his limited action, I liked his speed, agility, and getting off blocks for a bigger guy. Some of it was in garage time, but he seemed quick off the snap. He is a DE but played LB in HS/KY and an older guy, so that could be a good audition for a potential position switch, since we appear stacked at DE via the transfer portal. If we land another stud LB or two, if Wade worked he could stay in the 2-deep. This would let them give BD-Swain a full game in the rotation, which he deserves as a Frosh.

I hope Micah Welsh is healed up and we get a full dose today. But if he is not healthy and sits, he is still in the equation.

Go Buffs.

Pretty sure they went from "if you play at all you burn a year's eligibility" to "you can appear in up to 4 games and still redshirt" to "bowls no longer count towards the 4 because with so many guys opting out the teams would opt out if they couldn't play their redshirts". Not 100% sure, though.

The amount of people, both in the media and with the team, who believe that Rolls Royce builds planes is somewhere between interesting and disturbing.
Not important, but the RR aeronautics company built and flew the world's fastest electric plane a few years back. They are not the RR car company.
I think we win an exciting game by 2 to 4 points.

Here in the Denver area the ISU-Miami game is getting bumped for the Broncos game ... which is fine, but what is the local ABC channel going to do when that game runs past kickoff time for CU?

You really wanna know?

Umm ... yes, I do. They usually announce how they're going to handle it sometime during the telecasts, but I'd like to know what that is so I can plan my viewing. Anyone else got the info?

It's Denver. If the Broncos game runs over, they're going to stick with it.

I've been looking, and since it's a local choice, there's no moving the game to ESPN2. Perhaps channel 7 might put it on their website.

Nevermind - channel 7 will move the start of the game to Local3, whatever the **** that is.

NFL games almost always start on time and stick to 3 hours unless it goes into OT so I doubt it’s an issue

Especially for the first round games of the CFP, but unfortunately I don't see the NFL ever passing up a chance at a money grab. I just hope CFB doesn't move that first round off a Saturday tripleheader because that was great, even with the blowouts.
I can’t imagine it benefits the NFL to do that though? There is obviously crossover between CFB and NFL fans. And there are plenty that prefer CFB. So you’re losing viewers to the CFP games. Why not schedule it on free days?

The NBA has done Christmas Day for decades. The NFL did it, on a Wednesday no less, because Netflix offered a boatload of cash. Plus I bet there is a piece of the NFL brass that enjoys ****ing with other sports.

If the NFL moved those 2 games to Sunday they wouldn't get nearly the amount of viewers sharing an audience with multiple other games in the 1pm/4pm windows. I guess they could move them to another day depending on where it falls on the holiday schedule.

Fubo actually carries Local3, so I'm spared the choice of TCU destroying Louisiana or Steve Mariucci droning on about stupid ****.

The NFL is a lot more predictable, timing-wise. This game will be done before 5:30.

We all have the ESPN app for situations like this. Go Iowa State.

I have the app on TV and the Broncos game going on a tablet because (as elements of "Broncos country" told me on twitter this week) they still get to play the Chiefs' backups next week!

****ing loser mentality.
