Alamo Bowl Official Thread - COLORADO V OKIE STATE - DEC 29

The thing that pisses me off about tonight (Everything) but you have a few really good players on offense. Lindsay, Fields, Ross, Bobo, even McIntyre is pretty good. We just completely have no clue on how to isolate these guys and call plays for them like what OSU did time and again for Washington.

Where is Fields? You're telling me that they are playing man in a lot of respects, you can't isolate and get him 5-7 touches? That's just stupid.

Completely agree!!! The Texas Tech offense is built that way, so it is obvious that Chev does not have majority control of the offense. Lindgren is using his offense and has let Chev add to it, instead of a total commitment. With the QB's we have moving forward and the WR talent on the roster and the unreal recruits that we have, the full TT offense with some smart run plays would be dynamic. Thought that is what we were seeing in the CSU game, but it slowly faded each and every game from there?

Love Phil Lindsay. He's a real Buff.

This offense needs to be built around Phil next year. He needs 30 touches a game. To not do that is stupid. Get under center, run it, run it out of shotgun, swing passes, and screens. Get Lindsay the damn ball. Make the defense have to play up to stop the run and hit them over the top. Same **** we should have done this game but were too incoherent to do so.

Montez was missing throws, which is understandable coming off the bench. I can excuse him having a cold arm. The thing that scares me is he still fails to see open receivers in vacated spots in the defense. Which is especially troubling because defenses look very content with bringing 5 or 6 guys after him.

This game really highlights the jimmys and joes aspect as well. We don't have a Mason Rudolph, James Washington, or a Blake Jarwin. Frustrating playcalling made it 10x worse.

I do think some of this is due to the fact that he has to come in at a moment's notice with very little practice time and prep with the 1s all week. When he has been the known starter leading up to the game, he has been far better, outside of SC.
Good point. He was lost against Michigan, that much we know. Guy has tons of talent and I hope they give him every chance to succeed.

Pump the brakes. Lindsay is not a player you build the offense around.

Coaches have not done him many favors. Inserting Sefo back into each of the last two games is a joke.

So what we know going into next season is that Mac is a product of coaches around him. There is zero excuse for the performance tonight...past two games just embarrassed ourselves. What a waste of a great season guys! Nice job out there!

Every time he's had to replace Sefo during a game, he has not looked good. 2 of his 3 starts where he got all the reps in practice, he has looked legit. It shouldn't be surprising that practice and preparation makes a pretty big difference in on-field performance.

Bull****. You build the offense around leaders and big time players, guys who the team will follow and you ride that horse. You think this team really believes in Sefo? That's why this team deflated in the clutch. The defense won UCLA/WSU, not sefo. He got a couple garbage run TD's. His passing this year has actually regressed and it crippled this team down the stretch.

Well good year. Much better than any of us thought at the beginning of the season.

This game was hard, but it also showed us some things that are required at the next level. Now we learn, have the courage to apply our knowledge, and we move to next year.

He actually moved the ball against Washington. Dont know what you and Duff were watching.
I meant missile instead of Mistake. He has ridiculus throws but makes them when the defense misses rather than making great reads. I hope experience cures that.
