...more improvement

We are seeing progress, people. No Cal is not a great team, but we faced a lot of adversity on the road, continued to fight, and frankly out played Cal today. Now let's go beat Oregon State!

I hope they are angry. I hope they take it to OSU. Ridiculous that we lost that one.

I'm a little sore we don't have Cal and OSU in November because I think we'd be further along on our road to beating teams of their caliber by then. Still learning. Hope some recruits watched the game rather than just saw the box score and chalked it up to another CU loss. This team has some players but they're mostly very young and need time to mature and learn to help each other out.

They're angry and they want it. Not sure how the sideline was against CSU but that is the feeling I get being on the sideline.

I don't want to look forward to next year too much, but we have 7 starters on D who are underclassmen, and I bet it's similar on offense. Keep improving, baby!

When do we start making a close game like this ours? When is enough, enough? ****ing take it.
Encouraging for sure, but god dammit, you've got to win one like this.

To be fair. Cal lost one way worse last week.

We have lost games in worse ways before.

No doubt. I did not envision us losing this game because of Oliver. Our time is coming.

The team looked better, but that was another winnable game that we lost. That's 2 this year. Maybe 3. You have to finish there and cannot make a moral victory out of it. That was a loss. You can learn from losing.

Offense yes, defense no.

Ok, defense was not good today. However, Cal does that to everyone they have played. That stupid "bear raid" puts up points in a hurry. Doesn't help that one of our best DB's didn't play the 2nd half.
Yeah, Cal is one of the most explosive teams in the nation and losing Tedric hurt. Cal also had at least three possessions where they started with excellent field position, and that's huge.

Agree, losing thompson hurt, should have won this game, buffs played their asses off.

It put walker at safety which is not ideal. at all. Hurt big time. We needed one stop at the end there and I think Tedric could have given us that.

They played ****ing hard today. Till the very end.

Next game is week 6 and I'm pumped up for it. I'm excited about CU football again. I'm pissed about losing, but being excited again pretty much trumps the other **** for me right now.

Cal made great plays today overall on O. The "ole" tackling on the 92-yd score was the one bad play that stuck with me. Cal receivers caught passes in tight coverage all day. Goff was on target.

more juice boxes, if only, and what if.

Bottom line is we tanked, failed and choked. Any other spin is spin.

Another big thing, students seem to be more excited to. This team is giving them a reason to show up knowing it's not going to be like showing up in 2011 or 2012 or 2013.

Give me a freaking break. Go back and read the season prediction threads, most in tehre are saying they want to see weekly improvement and a competitive team...and that's exactly what we are seeing.

With how much youth we have, losing Bell at the start of the season really hurt and losing Thompson was just a killer. We really need to get off the field on 3rd downs.

It's coming along. I just question how high the ceiling is.

When you see flashes of this team having an advantage, like today or against ASU, the coordinators and players seem to be a lot looser and play like they're actually having fun out there. When faced with adversity mistakes seem to snowball. This is where having juniors and seniors at most positions would help greatly to get the nerves under control. Be nice if our coordinators had senior advisers over their shoulders too to show some poise and keep them from turtling.

So frustrating to see them lose a game they should have won... but Sefo played out of his mind. Sure, he made that one key mistake with the INT but even a bad Cal defense is still a Pac-12 D and he had SEVEN TD's and hit 12 different receivers.

Spruce is looking more and more like PRich's equal. He's having a terrific Junior year and I'm afraid he makes the leap to the NFL.

There's still a ton of work to do. That line is undersized and getting pushed around. The run game should be so much better and the D should be getting more pressure... but Rome wasn't built in a day.

i think everyone is underestimating the beavers....they are much better than cal. doesnt mean cu cant win however

I think if we beat OSU, then we have a chance at xona on the road, UDub at home and Utah at home. Sad that we could be 2 wins away from a bowl game right now.
