Any guesses on camp secret regarding offense?

every season, every coach, we hear about new wrinkles.

whatev-- just run the ****ing ball.

2 things I love about RPO:

1. OL gives the same look on most every play, so it's hard for the defense to key off of stance or first step to know if you're running or passing.

2. No fullback pulls a defender out of the box and then the QB keys off a single read to know whether the best choice is to hand it off, pull it & run, or pull it and throw. OC can really set up a defense for a big play if orchestrated correctly. (Kind of like in triple option where the D has to stop that dive play first & if they have to adjust to do it then they've opened themselves up to get burnt.)

RPO sucks if we are not moving the chains and even worse if we throw three incompletions only to bring the punting team out. That might not even be 15 seconds off the game clock in that case.

We.
Must.
Run.
The.
Ball.
Well.

WCO in college is a disaster waiting to happen. It’s too complex and it’s rare that a team has the athletes to run it effectively. So, naturally. That’s what we are going to do here. What could possibly go wrong?

Dude. Simplifying the offense is one of the main mid-season excuses we will hear. Kardboard needs those excuses. He might be an idot genius.

All offenses suck when you go 3 & out.

And, fwiw, defense rests at least as long per play if you're passing (time per play & length of re-set).

But that said, I'm a fan of power football. RPO is not incongruent with pounding the rock.

I have seen it mentioned specifically that our new offense is keeping part of its' scheme secret, especially regarding the use of tight ends. The media has hinted at it and Clay Patterson mentioned it as well. As long as we're not throwing TCU a bone, any guesses out there to what this could be? Lots of tight ends in the back field, aka a fullback? Wishbone sets (chuckles)?

FWIW, I do think it would be cool to see some innovation here!
“Where is the QB sneak?”
- Jon Embree
The secret.

A QB sneak play on first down designed to get 2 yards instead of 1.

Surprisingly enough we have a pretty darn good WR room, still probably the strongest on the team
RPO with power run, then quick passes could cover for weak pass pro

I have wanted to see more power running backs. I wonder if Darian Hagan is the reason we don't see many power backs.

I keep hearing this, but admit I don’t understand why. Why is the WCO so difficult for college?
