Anyone else feeling the magic...

Maybe this is where the Buffs finally turn that corner we have been looking for?

perfectly set up for a coming out party for the rival team, and gnarly crowd

On the road
Biggest Rival
down at half
Fought back (more than once)
overcame missed field goals
overcame a team that tends to cheat
kept believing
persevered

WON

This was a good win, but I felt better about the team that went into the Big House and almost pulled out a win against a ranked opponent. The way we played in that game was shocking. Nebraska wasn't a contender last year and isn't a very good team this year. Wins against Nubs are special, especially road wins, but I think we'll take our lumps this year.
This. Feeling real good about a bowl game this year. But that defense just gave up 600 yards to a true frosh qb in his first start. That is a problem. 7 or 8 wins seems right

Let's not get too far ahead...

We beat CSU (who actually beat Arkansas so maybe they're not as bad as we made them look?) and Nebraska... solid wins... but for big stretches of that Nebraska game the Buffs got dominated at the LOS on both sides of the ball... and the tackling was less than ideal. If we'd managed to lose that close game (and it was damn close) this forum would be doom and gloom...

The fact that we didn't is cause for celebration of course. This team is mentally tough, and we made some big halftime adjustments... but I'm not gonna be ready to feel the magic until we beat some legitimate conference opponents.

Hawaii is now 3-0, averaging over 530 yards of offense to date. Their defense isn't particularly good, but it looks like that offense is legit.

Point being, the CSU win over Arkansas proves that aren't a cellar dwellar. We have no idea if the Nubs are a .500 team or another **** show.

It is always hard at this time of the season to know how good you are even if you are undefeated. I'm keeping my prediction at 8 wins. UCLA and ASU will tell us a lot more.

I think that CSU team is better than many think. We did dominate the game, but not in the trenches (we held our own, but did not dominate). And their receivers are really good, but they dropped a few balls they shouldn’t have. Would not have changed the outcome of the game, but may not have been quite as lopsided.

If Martinez is healthy, I think that Nebraska team is pretty darn good. They dominated us in the trenches. We won the game, and did a great job doing it, but we’ve got problems on the O line.

I think both wins are good wins to start the season. This team has a lot of upside, especially if we can sort out the O line.

The 2016 team was good, but not "very good." We should not forget that we ended up ranked in the high teens (17 if I remember correctly), and I thought that was about right.

Now for my kool-aid: this year's team feels about the same to me. It's a team that I think will end the season ranked in the high teens/low twenties. I don't think we'll catch the "everyone ranked higher keeps losing and getting dropped too far" breaks that made us an overrated top 10 team like we did in 2016.

This is a good team that's figured out that if they scrap and fight for it they can win games. But they'll still lose to legit top 10 teams.

And yeah, until recruiting and development on the lines gets figured out, this is our ceiling.

CSU is a fringe bowl team in a shallow MWC. They have a couple really good receivers and that is about it. No need to overrate them.

Arkansas is probably the last place team in the SEC West and maybe the worst team in the conference.

I think this team can be better than ‘16 and we have a much more favorable schedule.

I think this win was better than ‘16 @ Oregon.

Clemson almost **** the bed against aTm, that I see as very similar to Nebraska this year. Yet I think for this ONE particular game, Nebraska had more fire/motivation/desire than aTm fed for Clemson. Ergo, coming out of there with a win no matter how ugly is on par to Clemson’s game in my opinion.

Many other highly/higher ranked teams have looked like dog****, and some of those games were at home. We’re doing good.

We feel like a 30-35 team IMHO.

This seems like more of a set up year. Hopefully we can get to 9 wins with a bowl game, Montez comes back with a lot of returning production and we are a top 25 team to start 2019.

We're a couple steps behind '16, but clearly the second best team MM has fielded. We're an average P5 school.
The good thing is the team should be improving every week with so many newcomers in the two deep. Guys like Sherman, Moretti, Pursell, Tonz, Landman, Abrams, Miller and Johnson should all hit their stride as more playing time becomes available, a couple of them already have.

At the beginning of the year the optimistic side of me said 8 regular season wins. Right now I feel like that is certainly attainable. Anything more is just pure fun.

Put another way, this range should be our floor going forward. Feels like this is where Utah usually is, which for better or worse, is the minimum expectation for CU now that we're (hopefully) out of the Hawkins hangover.

With our Home/Away split, it just might be enough to win the Pac12 South. It'd take some close game magic too.
