Anyone else worried that UCLA might make a run at MacIntyre?

They just got a bunch of money thanks to their UA contract and there are very few proven HC in the West right now. Call me paranoid, but they might go for him

My guess is they make a run at Chip Kelly or Ken Norton Jr.
Ken Norton is a good name that I didn't think of. Something that is giving me hope is that I think they might lean offensive. Phillip Montgomery comes to mind. I don't believe they'd ever consider Tee Martin due to ego

Chip Kelly will certainly demand a big salary and I don't think UCLA is willing to invest that much in their football program

Is anyone else here potentially comfortable with the fact that we have a Head Coach in training/waiting in Darren Chiaverini? Honestly if anyone comes and gets MM in the next 1-3 years, then I am totally comfortable with Coach Chiv taking over the program. He has continued to hone his skills, and without a doubt, the recruiting success is 70% his efforts. Coach Mac has done a ton of the heavy lifting to rebuild the program, but I have confidence in DC's skills, contacts, coaching, and recruiting that we would be just fine. Fixing the Contracts for assistants was a massive deal for getting this program back in order. The facilities are also a massive part of it. We will have ups and downs, but we should always be a 6 win minimum program from here on out.

^^ lol chev... He will be a head coach one day or in the pros but I have a feeling he'll be at cu awhile.

No. I think Mac knows that he has good support and can build a very good football program for years. They HAVE TO pay him and his assistants, though, to keep them

At the trajectory he is going, it would be smart for him to go to a smaller school and run the show, just like Frost is doing right now at UCF. Mark my words that in the next 2-5 years, Scott Frost will be the coach at Nebraska.

Chev is in the same phase of development, so if something like New Mexico State or UNLV or something like that opens, then he may have to consider moving there to run a program, to prove that he is ready. Tough part is that I agree with you that he wants to be here forever, but if we are not ready to take a shot at him, then we may lost him for a brief amount of time. That is why I believe in him now.

I think the more important question is, why in the hell did you choose "Hunchback Quaker" for your handle?
