Athlon's "Outrageous" Pac-12 Predictions

He and Mac must've really had a falling out. He acts more like a guy with a vendetta than someone thankful for the career boost.
Agreed. It does make you wonder about how the chemistry will gel at Oregon. If the 60 year old-alpha male-still sees himself as a head coach- did not like taking orders from the 52 year old Mike McIntyre, how is that attitude going to improve while taking orders from the 40 year old Willie Taggert?

Do people really care about Leavitt doing that? He's pushing his brand just like he did from day one at CU, and Oregon backed up the Brinks truck for him. CU will finish with a better record than Oregon again.

No one ever accused Jim Leavitt of having any class, so it didn't surprise me.

I'm sure they have 10K's in Oregon in which he can push his brand.

That's why a lot of us believe he has his sights on a HC gig.

Next season when Mac is off to to some SEC job, it will be funny watching everyone here forgive Leavitt and hoping we hire him as HC.
Why would Mac leave? His kid is on the team, he has others in school, makes good money, has turned this P5 program around and has the best facilities in the country. I just don't see him leaving...turning around a program is way more work and more stressful than maintaining what you've built.

Well he could definitely get paid more, and probably a lot more, and have his entire staff earn dramatically more. Especially when cost of living is factored in. But, stability is nice and as long as he maintains some success he'll be very safe here. I don't think he leaves but I certainly wouldn't be shocked if it happened someday.

Yes I'm serious. Most of this board were begging for him to take over for Mac before we had that great season last year. Taking a huge raise and wearing Oregon gear on social media don't make him less of a coach.
That guy would never fly in Boulder. Plus, I wouldn't trust him a bit. He's trouble with a capital "T." IMO.

everyone has jelly ex girlfriend status going on. Everyone started to believe their own posts about Leavitt loving it in Boulder, happy as a DC, loves pepsi, all that ****. Turns out, dude was a mercenary and is still a mercenary with one goal in mind: Head Coach.

Don't take too much pleasure in it. Die hard buff fans were in a really difficult spot prior to 2016. **** you if you aren't die hard.

I think there was a vocal minority that were claiming this. I don't ever remember "most" claiming they wanted MM replaced with Leavitt.

It's a hypothetical, I'm not saying he will leave. But even the biggest Buff fan has to acknowledge the possibility. This is not the best job in the country as much as we would like to believe it is.

Sure, you'd welcome him back with open arms. And he DID fly in Boulder once already.

Huh?

Not saying most wanted Mac replaced, I'm saying if Mac was out most wanted Leavitt to get the job. It was a large majority too.

I was sort of being tongue in cheek with my initial post, but it is fun to watch you guys get all riled up about a guy who did an awesome job here and left for a huge raise.

I don't blame Leavitt. He got life-changing money (about $2 million more than CU could have offered him over the term of the contract). Who amongst us would turn that down? (Wearing the O gear at the Bolder Boulder run is irritating, though.)

I don't blame him for leaving given the huge sweatshop proceeds Nike was offering. I think it is decidedly low class to show up in Boulder wearing your 0 gear.
